Today's ultrasound

George Henderson - a LCHF blogger and part of the Auckland UT team working with Prof Schofield has been researching liver disease for quite some time. He's especially concerned about the role of PUFAs in liver disease. You might find these blogs post useful:

I also have what sounds like your "scrunched up" gall bladder - my scan refers to it as contracted around a large gall stone - maybe it's the body's way of isolating the stone and stopping it from blocking the bile ducts? If so, I'm glad that happened. I still get occasional pain in the area (though nothing like it used to be before starting LCHF) especially if I compress my abdomen in a certain way - it's almost like it gets trapped under my rib cage. Fingers crossed neither of us ends up with anything too serious from it. I'd much prefer to keep my gall bladder if possible.

Thanks @Indy51 Really helpful. Yes, that's the only time I get any pain too, in my rib cage area when I bend over too low or awkwardly. I've had that for years (maybe 20) and my sister says she also gets a similar pain. I was told at the ultrasound that the stones could have been there for many years but whlle the gall bladder remains scrunched there is little risk of the stones escaping into the bile ducts.

Our internal organs are very smart aren't they?
