That’s very interesting, they don’t tell you that. I am way too volatile to inject without food at the moment, feel better being a bit high than crashing, but that’s off topic sorry op :(

edit: sorry, how do you know if it is 5 or 16 if not associating it to food?

i know its not from food
due to the fact that
i dont eat any food until around 3pm
my coffee is at 8 to 9am

and i do get up with numbers as high as 10
so some is likely that too

Did you take 10 units of novorapid for a regular coffee? With no syrup or something in it? I’m far from an expert but that can’t be right? That’s like 2g of carb, if the insulin is not working (and clearly it’s not) and makes you gain weight, how can taking it make sense? I am not really asking you cdpm, I’m asking your doctors that are not reading this :( doesn’t sound like your getting good care at all.

your completely right
i have told them it doesnt work
they only order an a1c then say its ok
and things go on as usual

maybe i have to just suck it up
and go low carb as much as i can
even if i have only a few foods
and hope it wont put my bs too high

and
i have no teeth so i cant chew anything
its extra hard to not eat high carb soups
or it will be
does cottage cheese fit low carb?

I have no top teeth and I eat low carb foods, including all types of meat, fish, shellfish, cheese and butter, yoghurt, veggies to name a few.

Cut the meat up into small pieces before putting into the mouth and then gum it to death, as I do before I swallow it.

Plenty of low carb soup choices available.

going to try taking the 80 units
of toujeo at night see if it works better
i also wonder if it might work
better doing 2 injections splitting the dose

at what amount do i say
time to stop increasing this?
i went up to 160 units last time
and it didnt do any better
im heading that way again with the increases i fear

why wont drs help?
is it that they dont know what else to do?
how is it we are "so far advanced in diabetes treatments"
when things like this happen to ppl

i still havent figured out how to fight the hunger
it causes
a few years ago when i had better
finances tried keto and low carb
i was still very hungry
im pretty sure its just the insulin
but its the end of the road as far as treatments go for me
already been the oral meds route
and even 1 injectable

so idk what to try
i will go lower carb as best i can anyway

Yes. See if you can pick up a copy of the Blood Sugar Diet or Fast 800 Keto or try this:

But you MUST get your insulin and any other meds adjusted (you may need 1/3 to 1/2 your needs currently).
I have a paper on this if you need something to show your healthcare team.

im still looking into this too
but
i am eating less than that and gain
very fast on more
so i likely couldnt eat as much as 800

Sorry to hear that. You must be hungry and in any case that low kcal is only supposed to be for 12 weeks because you won't be getting enough nutrients otherwise. Something isn't right here though taking large insulin doses will make it hard to lose weight , just by going so low cal you are not likely to be eating many in any case. Sorry I am baffled.

So now they have me back on the Basal bolus insulins again.
How do I convince them it's just not the right routine for me?
Do I have to just go off it and hope for the best?
I know this isn't good due to complications but
How is weighing 300 pounds from being so hungry any healthier? ( I was 300 pounds and lost 57 pounds).

How are you doing now ?

How are you doing now ?
They went to having us use basaglar now which is still glargine. So my units are slowly climbing up and very hungry. I'm holding my weight loss off mainly by starving tho! I don't want to gain it back.
And still no teeth or chance of ever getting false ones.
So really not alot better since I began this post.
Thanks so much for asking!
