Sadly, Nationwide must have been losing money on this service as they have now withdrawn it for new customers opening the requisite account later than some time last December 2016.

I have just received a letter from Nationwide offering me this Flex Account for £10 per month. That's £120 a year, and my annual world wide insurance costs less than £100 a year.

The Flex plus account with Nationwide still exists for new customers. And the £10 per month covers other benefits.
