Hi All .

Any 'more' tree pollen sufferer's about ?
What helps you ? Any tips/advice ?

Started with this last week, dry gritty itchy eyes, sneezy,sore dry raspy throat, runny nose etc.
Blood sugars starting to swing a bit yo-yo effect in response .

Never used to have this when young - now I do . :x
[ my brother did have it 'badly' though ]
Doc has given me a steroid nasal spray and a low dose of piriton [hayfever antihistamine] .

If it's not one thing its another !!!
Even this affects the blood sugar levels :roll:
Tips me one way then another :crazy:

I'm a hayfever sufferer but I haven't been diagnosed long enough to notice the effects. I usually have to wait until about June to have any issues...... We're a bit slow in Scotland! Will have to wait and see if I come across any issues!
 
I hate Hayfever. I only developed it about 3-4 years ago. I use the nasal spray which is great, I used to get itchy eyes etc but so long as I use the spray morning and night I don't want to scratch my eyes out!!! :lol:

I haven't seen any effect on my BG yet, but this will be my first time monitoring them during hayfever season.
 
My doc prescribes Telfast (fexofenadine) for my allergic reactions and I must say they are the best I have tried over the many decades I have suffered. They work fairly well and combined with Rapitil eye drops they keep me able to go out no matter which way the wind is blowing.. :D
 
James suffers with hay fever for trees, weeds you name it. He has started his antihistamines now. He used to have Telfast as well as nasal sprays and eye drops but last year did not give much relief so he tried Loratadine tabs and so far so good. I have heard that it will not be a good year for sufferers this year as it will be the worst for 50 years. That was also said about the cold and snow so does this mean that we will have a dry summer. Here's hoping but sorry for you poor sufferers and those doing their GCSE's like James.

Also saw DSN today but not our usual. HbA1c was 7.2 so we are pleased. He has grown and put on half a stone since January pleased with that too as he needs to fill out a bit. Tweaked his basal rate again so fingers crossed till the next time.

I forgot to add that the tablets do not seem to upset his BG's either.

Onwards and upwards :thumbup:
