Trying to be good

I am trying to get my sugars down mid to high teens at the minute but I a bit confused.
If something says carbohydrate say 90.5g then of which sugars 0g does that mean it's ok to eat?
Hi @shez, sorry you thread kind of got hijacked...
If you are trying to lower your blood sugars, a lot of us have found the best way to do this is to reduce all carbs... I've cut out bread, pasta, rice, potatoes etc. and my BS have lowered amazingly. I tried cutting out just sugar but it didn't have much effect. Carbs are now a treat. Check out he Lchf diet section and have a look at the thread 'what have you eaten today' for some great ideas. Good luck

Sorry if you think it got hijacked but it's all about the same thing the OP asked about, and a helpful explanation of it.

Hello , I don't carb count , but I must share that some here do use xylitiol , and it works for them and me ...
Hope you find the answer you are looking for ...kat

As I understand it there are some "sugar alternatives" which, though they can be as much as 100g carbs per 100g weight, consist of carbs that are indigestible, thus passing straight through to your gut, so won't affect your glucose levels, but may instead play havoc down there as they can ferment, and can cause wind at either or both end(s) - to put it politely. So pick your poison... carefully!
