Turkish Delight

Why do you think this would be ok? Its one of the things I would avaoid most tbh.. rather some dark chocolate!

I wonder too.
About 85% carbohydrate; Sugar, corn flour and a bit of flavouring. Calorie dense, no fibre and nothing else of any nutritional value .
Not a healthy choice for anyone.

there is a diabetic turkish delight, but I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole as it's stuffed with polyols and too much of them in a day will give you the runs...

There are some diabetic turkish delights, Thornton's for example, but best not eat too much as these rely on indigestible 'sugars'. Yotti's low GI tukish delight, with a rating of 34, carries the warning ; "Consumption of six or more squares of this product may result in gastrointestinal discomfort."

Once you get off sugar and sugar substitutes, your taste adjusts and things like cherry tomatoes start to taste really sweet. I bought some tomato plants in the spring and still get a ready supply of red 'bonbons'. It is my firm belief that one reason why we crave sugars and fats is because most mass produced foods lack taste. All we do is stimulate the digestive enzymes and we are left unsatisfied and wanting more.

I was told this is one sweet treat you can eat please can anyone confirm this for me, thanks

Your profile is ambiguous. Are you a Health Care Professional with diabetes or a non diabetic Health Care Professional?

If you want to see your blood sugars rise then Turkish Delight would be ideal.

It would be interesting to know who told you this.

Turkish Delight is fat free, gelatine free and suitable for vegans.
That might be why some people think it's good for you. However at about 30% carb for the lowest carb versions, you'd only be able to eat about a 1cm cube of the stuff before it elevated your BG
Remember you CAN eat anything. It's how much of it you eat that matters. A slice of bread would spike me, but a couple of crumbs probably wouldn't
