Just had my six monthly Diabetic Review.
HBA1C down from 61 to 49.
Along with a 6 kilo weight loss, plus excellent cholesterol and blood pressure numbers (2.9, and 140/72, respectively), this is a real success for me.
Admittedly having max dose of Metformin (4/day; 2 before breakfast and 2 before dinner), has contributed.
I have also taken advantage of the warm weather to walk for 15 minutes each evening..
The HbA1c number is just one point away from being pre diabetes (that is 48).
All in all, a good result all round ️

However, are you genuinely happy with your cholesterol of 2.9? If that is your total cholesterol it is a lot lower than I would be happy with. Are you on statins?

I would think a discussion with the gp about reducing the statin, seems rather low to me.

I’m currently only taking 1 x 20 mg tablet per day and at night only
