Hi, I've recently sold my motorcycle. If your question is, can Type1 Diabetics ride motorcycles, yes they can, as long as you have a valid license and your doctor says you are fit to drive / ride.

I've had Type 1 for 10 months and passed my bike test in January! (I'm a 37 year old biker chick!) After diagnosis my license is now restricted to three years but other than that I've had no problems with insurance or anything else. Just make sure you check before riding and I always take my testing kit and a snack out with me!

Ju`st one thing I would say to you - I think 16 is too young for a bike - I've been driving nearly 20 years and think that you need lots of experience of roads before you start on a bike. Sorry to sound like an old fart but that's my experience! My son is 15 and keeps saying he's having one as soon as he's he's 16 but I say NO!!!! (and I always win!! he! he!)
