What is a glucose blood test for? Isn't the hba1c test we should go by?
I got my results back today an my blood glucose was 16 what does that mean? Hba1c 72... I no that's not great but it's not rotten.

As your spot Glucose test was above 11 then it is also a verification along with your HbA1c of your body is coping. In your case a little more work is needed by you and your Dr. I am surprised that you do not consider your numbers rotten; your HbA1c averages with a glucose level of 11.2 mmol/l . Can we help you to improve it and have you had a look at the sites low carb programme?

Hi yes I no about lchf. I will try to be harder with healthy eating in mind. Bit of a stumble thru xmas new year period has to be said. But in saying that even when eating well drinking only water am finding it hard to drop them. One day I didn't eat all day till 7pm was still high 18 an up. See dn Friday will discuss with her as my endo app for the pump is 22nd February. Thanks

That might be a liver dump @nessa1970 I find if I don't eat breakfast, my BS will rise and I need to take a correction dose. So now I eat breakfast in good time to avoid that, even if it's only a small breakfast.

I'm tagging @Giverny for you to see if she can help you change your account info so it correctly shows your type as Type 1. Giverny, the OP doesn't have a computer and isn't being shown the option to edit her account details.

Oh thank you for that. And yes it could be a liver dump I forgot about that. Thanks again.

Yes not eating will be a sure way to push up your BG levels especially if you have little of your own insulin to manage it.
