My blood sugars have been 2.7 for more than an hour done the usual as I would to bring my sugars up and nothing has happened what do I do?

Drink Lucozade or Coke.Try crunching glucose tablets and holding them in your mouth.

Can you think of any reason why this is happening?

Ok - as long as you're sure you didn't make a mistake with your insulin. If you haven't, then just sit still and get some more sugary drink and food in. Test every 10 or 15 mins and you should see it start to come up.

I have literally tried everything

Ok - the only thing I can think is that perhaps something is affecting your tummy. I had a similar thing when I had Norovirus. Don't panic. Try to get sweets/glucose dissolving in your mouth so you can absorb some from there. If you have Hypostop you can rub that on your gums/cheek. You could do the same with honey or sugar with a few drops of water.

Try not to panic because a racing pulse can burn up the glucose. You're ok - just keep getting that sugar/glucose in.

have you taken your long acting insulin yet this evening ??

Is it Lantus ??

not to panic you but if you answered yes to the above 2 questions it could be the lantus has failed to crystalise upon injection and has started acting as a fast acting insulin ( fairly uncommon but has happened to some people on the forum )

just keep treating the lows and testing :)

If you have sweet cereal like Frosties, try that too.

If your sugars still don't start going up, then I'd call 111 for advice.

Take care and let us know how you are.

hey @Kirstyo1
just had a quick check and came up with this -----

"Abasaglar is a ‘biosimilar medicine’. This means that Abasaglar is similar to a biological medicine (also known as the ‘reference medicine’) that is already authorised in the European Union (EU). The reference medicine for Abasaglar is Lantus."

Oh sorry I'm new to all this plus I'm scared now my partner is at work and I'm on my own not good

try not to worry -- we ( me and AZ ) will be about most of the evening -- you'll be fine !!

Thank you so much means so much
just check in with BG levels every half hour or so ( or more if you feeling low )

it does sound a bit like your absaglar injection failed to crystalise --
tomorrow you could have a word with your DSN and explain what happened
she will either poo poo your thoughts or she will proactively suggest you might try another long acting insulin -- levermir is usually the next choice.

how long are you diagnosed ?
would struggle to think you are hitting bad injection spots ?
are you rotating all your injection sites for both long acting and quick acting insulins ??( very important !!

Don't be scared. Get some food set out near you in case you need it eg biscuits, cereal bars, glucose tablets and a Coke, and keep testing every 15 mins until you're up around 5, then, if you feel ok, test every 30 mins maybe. If it was me, I'd also set alarms during the night just for my peace of mind.

If it is your long acting insulin, you may need to eat some carbs like toast or cereal to mop it up.

It's very good it's come up a bit now : )

Great news! Do keep testing though, if only for your peace of mind. It will help you relax and know all is ok :)
