End the end of my tether, have tried reducing meals, to low carb diets , to increasing my bolus, still spiking . My basal is already 30units of lantus at 8pm . Still have fasting values between 10-15mmols . Can't understand why

Have you tried bolusing more in advance @cattyneldon to stop after meal spikes?

And have you tried splitting your basal, if you feel it's running out?

Can you describe what is happening there?

To me this looks like you bolused and ate a meal, and had a post meal spike, and by the time the bolus started working and dropping your sugars you ate again, and then the cycle repeats

The simple answer is bolus 15-30 minutes before eating, and dont again again until your sugars are back to 5-7 range, then repeat.

I recently started using the freestyle libre sensors and for the first time in 15 years noticed the big spikes after I had eaten something, even a low carb meal would spike me as I think I'm very sensitive to carbs. I used to take my insulin (novorapid) 1 to 2 mins before my meal or straight after my meal, now I plan my meals better and inject 12mins before my meal and now only get a normal spike of 2 or 3 above my pre meal level and this has also lead to needing much less insulin. that's my experience hope it helps
