Welcome @Bikerider :) Can you tell us a little more about your insulin regime and whether you count carbs?

If you haven't already got it, the book Think Like A Pancreas is fantastic for Type 1s :)

i went on a carb count course but recently the ammount thats quoterd for the carbs is a bit much and end with low sugars

You mean your mealtime insulin to carb ratio? If you're not confident altering that, give you DSN a call.

Many people need different ratios for breakfast, lunch and evening meal.

it was fine before on the ratio then it suddenly went off

That's strange, but not uncommon. My evening meal ratio seems to,change quite a lot.

If you're consistently going low, then it might be worth a chat with your DSN in case your basal dose also needs adjusting.

That does happen @Bikerider, insulin-to-carb ratio's and basal doses are not set in stone and do change from time to time, just go back through your carb counting course material or register with the following website if you've forgot most of what you've learnt, it's an on-line carb counting course similar to what is taught on DAFNE:

It's normal to be like this. How old are you? I was diagnosed at age 6, 24 now. My teenage years were terrible. I was adamant that I could do whatever I wanted. Obviously I couldn't! It gets easier. Now I live the life I want to live. I volunteered in South Africa for three months and I remember someone saying they'd never seen a diabetic do that before. We can do anything!!! Keep your head up. People are always eager to help on this app if you need it
