Well done you! What has helped you get and keep low?

I initially got it down to 36 (from 43) by having a LCHF diet then at the end of April I switched to a pump which has allowed me to keep it low while still indulging in carbs. I love the pump. I seem to be able to eat whatever I want and rarely spike over 8, and I get less hypos tooWell done you! What has helped you get and keep low?
You're right @MrBloominggrumpy - just work on your everyday BG levels. If you're getting those better then the HbA1c should improve. It can be good to show how much you've improved and the hard work is paying off though. Or can make you realise you have more tweaking (or major changes in my case!) to do.
Hopefully when you see your new team they will get things like this sorted for the future and you'll have the support you need
In my case, they're worried about the hypo risk: deemed greater the lower my my HBA1C gets. As I said, they're argument wasn't the readings I presented (mainly good pre-meal scores of 4-7), but what might be happening in between tests as I don't have a CGM. In theory I could be dipping down to 2 or 3 (or less) without realising. What's the deal with this? Why is it deemed risky to have it in a non diabetic range?

Since your pre-meal blood sugars are in range I think better advice would have been to start testing in between meals to see if you are indeed going low at these times rather than drastically reducing your insulin dosage...In my case, they're worried about the hypo risk: deemed greater the lower my my HBA1C gets. Glad to see you're still with us @MrBloominggrumpy and really pleased you've managed to get your HbA1c down. Keep up the good work and you'll get to DAFNE eventually. Have they got a priority list if people drop out? Just thinking you could argue you should go to the top because you've missed out through no fault of your own.
Mine are 6.0What are your H test results?
Mine is 7.1mmol
Just got my HbA1c result which is 6.8 (51), not bad and better than last time 7.0 (53). Cholesterol was down too at 3.3 (previously 3.78).
I keep to a fairly strict diet and try to choose lower GI foods. My daily carb intake swings between 130g and 180g most of the time so I am not following a LCHF diet as yet. I try to keep as active as possible but that usually only involves walking and keeping busy around the house and garden. I don't go to a gym.
