This is of interest to me as everyone keeps saying oh no type 1s can’t have it yet obviously each person is different… good luck!

It wasnt to ask where to get it but if anyone with type 1 has been prescribed it
The above post by mods wasn’t directed at yourself or anyone in particular @annieccat it was just a reminder for all members not to put your thread in jeopardy by posting anything that broke forum rules. It was done to protect your question, hope that helps explain why

Hi
Has anyone considered taking the Mounjaro being a Type 1 diabetic?
I’m considering asking about it the next time I see my nurse/consultant but there’s risks involved due to the fact I’m also epileptic. I’m really insulin resistant though and my consultant took me off metformin due to a bad allergic reaction to a certain brand which could have helped me. My weight has increased significantly over the past few years and with how resistant I am I’m finding it hard to lose any weight so would definitely consider it.

As a type 1 diabetetic, I have recently been perscibed munjaro by my GP. Well my hospital doctor discussed it with me first and then wrote to my GP asking to perscibe it.

I'm on the medrontic closed loop pump system. I also take levothyroxine and b12 injections. I am obese.

I took my fourth dose two days ago.

The day after the dose, in the first week I had 4 hypo (not severe ones, but they needed treatment). Then the following week, I had alarms before low. Then the pump adjusted and it gave me less insulin on Saturdays.

The day before munjaro injection (Thursdays), sugar goes up and the first week it went to 20mml. Which required multiple of corrections. The pump learnt from it and the following week it automatically gave more insulin, but it was around 10mml. Then finally my pump learnt I require more insulin starting on Thursdays till Friday lunchtime.

I don't think I would have been able to do this as smoothly without the close loop system. I am eating better, but my main concern has been diabetes. My weight is going to the right direction and so is my hba1c according to my insulin pump.
