Got to agree about Walk on By fantastic cover versionI love the Strangler's Golden Brown, it's their best one and their rendition of Dione Warwick's walk on by is fab-u-lous
Husband into punk! I suppose I ended up there by default. Ironically I enjoy and appreciate more now than then. He was also into the Jam and Elvis Costello, went to see Elvis at the Lincoln Drill Hall. Turned my nose up, but wouldn’t now. My big love of the time was Status Quo, still is, been numerous times. In fact them and Def Leopard and Bon Jovi can get me up dancing anytime. Bit of a rocker!!
Make sure you take extra insulin just in case you get “some sugar poured on you”, making you “hysterical” and “excitable” bringing out your “animal” instincts and in need of “women” to show you “ love and affection “Got tickets for Def Leppard in Liverpool this December

Internet what internet?? If you were in Wedmire that explains your lack of communication - I live just up the road in Mark and Broadband can be a bit ‘hit and miss’ but mobile signals are even worse - I often have to resort to the summer house at the bottom of the garden (145ft) just to send a text! What’s wrong with Burnham? It’s great if you want to retire and live in a retirement or nursing home because there are quite a few of them!!I’M BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!.
Lost in France?????????? More like Stricken in Somerset.
Apparently I’ve not been able to connect to server since Wednesday. Back home now, if there’s only one good thing about home it’s the fact tinternet works.
Great , fantastic, brilliant week with grandkids.
Based at Wedmore just shy of Cheddar Gorge. Wholeheartedly concur Cheddear is wonderful. Visited W-S-M which wasn’t particularly to our tastes. Horses for courses I guess. Burnham on sea best left for another discussion.
Wookey Hole, good.
Puxford Park. v. good.
Swimming at Wells leisure centre. good.
Digs were outstanding, field/ hill behind offered great views of surroundings. Must have climbed up and down 10 times a day.
Picnics, playing and just sitting and relaxing. Special memories a plenty.
Hope all you guys are okay
I only live about 13 miles away and only go there for hospital appointments!!Weston’s not my cup of tea either @therower, one of the good things about life now is that we no longer have to go there! Sorry if I’ve offended anyone who lives there.
Quite a bit unfortunately - however it is low in carbs so not all bad !! Used to work in a cheese factory that made award winning very mature Cheddar cheese (about 8 miles from Cheddar) but I now find supermarket cheese a bit too mild even the mature. And how much cheese to you buy and eat ?

There is particularly when we’ve got the coast, Mendips, Quantocks and Exmoor within a 1-2 hour drive away. However probably like a lot of people we don’t necessarily appreciate how lucky we are!If, like you, you know where to go, there’s some beautiful countryside round your way!
Used to make Somerset clotted cream as well and sold loads to go with Cheddar StrawberriesIt's just so right to have lived near Cheddar and worked in a cheese factory.

Hi. Not a special hill@therower can I ask where in Wedmore you were staying as I’m trying to figure out where the hill is
Know where you were now!!Hi. Not a special hillWe stayed at a place called Ashton cottages on the Cheddar Rd. There was a field behind the accommodation which was on a hill, nothing spectacular but when you have a 3 yr old and 6 yr old it becomes a hill. The views were lovely even from such a humble setting.
