Morning, not much to report, except I think I discovered yesterday that a sudden drop in atmospheric pressure makes me tired. I never realised that before, it might explain a few occasions when I have felt strangely tired, and couldn't explain it. It's 1003mb today, yesterday it was 996mb, or something.

This is very sad, I'm going to become interested in it.

Last year, because I know a couple of people there, I was watching Hurricane Irma, in Florida, and following a stormchaser on twitter, and just as it hit key west, he tweeted the low atmospheric pressure, and then nothing for two days.

Anyway, blood sugar is ok, it ran a little higher yesterday, but I don't know if there is any connection, I'll see what happens today.

Drops in pressure make me feel tired too Alison. Back in my yoof, my 20s that is, in W Africa, when the first wonderful, dramatic storms of the rainy season arrived, I just couldn’t stay awake. It was really disappointing to miss the show. I was sleepy before the rain came this time too

Morning all :):headphone:

Going t'moan.

Last night kiev, baked spud, veg carb calc around 65g so in goes 7 units nova going be all down to 3.7.
OK slight over kill with a couple of Jaffa cakes and a jelly baby (joys of having a sweet tooth)

This morning 14.2 :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I really don't know why :arghh: the snack I had last night should not have taken me that high, plus I had also been the gym so that should have kicked in too.

OH! well half litre of Rapid and have stopped it going up and now it is on its way back down.

Somtimes this thing is just beyond rhyme or reason ~sigh~

Good morning and a Happy Monday to you all. Awoke to 7.6 and off to my 'work coach' interview at the Job Center this morning, I have piles of documents to take, ID and probably a lot more than asked for and feeling a little anxious, but a friend is coming with me.
I had gammon last night, but it tasted too salty and I only ate half of my meal. I think I will stick to soup tonight :)

Hope all goes well for you today @Robinredbreast .....sounds like you are going prepared which is probably more than most....

Being vegaquarian, I am not 100% familiar with the Kiev delicacy. However, I wonder if the filling is fatty which delayed the carb to BG conversion. So you were low pre Jaffa cakes but still had some jacket spud carbs in your body to convert?

A valid point.

However it is not an uncommon meal, it is something we eat alot and as far as I can remeber it has not spiked me as much as it did last night o_O

I put to it down to being abducted by aliens and probed :chicken:

Oh! whats a "vegaquarian"?

Hi there - If you like storm watching, have you looked at It's all rather fab, and we'veused it for years to track the huricainne seasons, with interest. https://www.windy.com/?15.917,-61.845,7,m:d7Gaer4

You can set it up for anywhere, and have a list of favourites, plus you can advance the predictions and drag the visuals.

Many a tense hour can be had on there.

I'll have a look, it was never my intention to become interested in hurricanes, but having accidentally watched one, I realised they are quite fascinating.

I know what you mean, but sadly, fascinating isn't the usually used term when it's coming your way. If you're looking for actual storm footage, YouTube is a decent place to go.

Bearing in mind some of these boats will be well over 20 tons, it shows the power of mother nature.

Experiencing weather is an inevitable consequence of living on this planet, you just can't avoid it.

Of course it is, but unless you have been present during a hurricane, or had assets damages or destroyed by one, it is incomprehensible.

Weather is going to get more unpredictable as the planet heats up. For a while I think we thought we had forced nature to submit to our will, but it hasn't.

I just walked for an hour and 40 minutes, with a short stop off for coffee, and my blood sugar dropped from 7.6mmol to 6.3mmol, and that's all.

I don't mind, I wish it would do that every time, it makes life much easier, usually I would expect to top up my blood sugar with whatever I had with me, with a walk that long.

I bet this afternoon revenge will be had by the blood sugar gremlin, and I'll have some random hypo, at some unexpected time.

I'm currently injecting to my usual ratio, but finding that BG is heading up to it's usual peaks and and not coming down agin requiring an additional injection 3.5 - 4 hours after the first, which is a little worrying.
