And I thought aspidistra was a plant not insulin.....
You beat me to it! I call it aspidistra too, although I’ve never used it. I do however have one that was split from my great great grandmother’s plant, so it’s well over a century old...

Well done on the MiaoMiao order, @Knikki - should be with you in ten days or so. What phone are you going to be using it with?

I had a steady night, until around five when my low alarm went off. 3.8, so too two dextabs, stopped my insulin for half an hour and read because I couldn’t get back to sleep. Steadied into the sixes, bit now in the 7s, so have corrected to bring it back down. Shoulders and neck really stiff from the work yesterday, which is fun. Not. Lunch with my friend followed by more pump training, where they’ll tell us how to do new basal programmes and extended bolusing. I’ve been doing these things already, but a little extra info never hurts.

Etch-a-Sketch had me at 98% in range for the last 24, this morning’s little blip killed that before I hit the magic 100... :banghead:

Morning everyone,

Went a bit hypoey late yesterday afternoon, and it stayed that way for a few hours, so I woke up in the 6s about 2am, and pushed that down, but had trouble getting back to sleep.

Reduced the day time Levemir dose back to 5, where it was before.

This feels like a bit of a repeated cycle, and that I'm about to go round the same circuit all over again, but we'll see.

Oh on a side note, after getting badgered by Mr xDrip @Scott-C ;):hilarious: and her royal purpleness @Mel dCP ;):hilarious: one has dipped his toes into more tech and got a Miaomiao on order.

I have been looking at this for a while now, when the funds allow, I am going to purchase..... Will be after holiday in September now thou.
Well woke to a 6.6, usual breakfast and Fiasp. All going swimmingly....just scanned my Libre and 17.6 GRRRRR!!! Not got a clue why, checked my Timesulin and that was correct for my 7:15 bolus so I KNOW I did jab myself. Just done an air shot with my pen and that's working.....oh the joys of the T1D life lol
Anyway.....GOOD MORNING to the T1D army

How did I get my message in the quote box????

Morning All
Nothing to do with diabetes, but I have just discovered Elvana - Elvis fronted Nirvana tribute act - and I don't know what to say.

Well just went off and found them on YouTube and I'll certainly never see or listen to Nivana or Elvis in the same light again actually not bad and certainly and enegetic performance :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Just reconnected myself (to shift the sight and sound of Elvana from my mind).
Nice to be back to pumping with the extra control it brings.
Certainly bought home a few reminders
- make sure you have an alternative to pumping with you at all times. My little syringe is fine.
- make sure you have a more permanent pump alternative at home. I had pens and cartridges of Novorapid and Lantus at home
- remember your pen doses. It is probably a good idea to write these down although it seems to be one of those strange things I can't forget. Like my childhood phone number.
- make sure you have a spare pump battery. When a new pump is sent out, it does not include a battery. At least Animas don't.
- make sure you have your pump settings recorded. And updated when you tweak them. Anyone using Diasend can get these on line. (I had a Diasend record but it was slightly out of date because I have been tweaking my basal with my latest Libre.)
- give yourself a good 30 minutes to input the settings into your replacement pump. And check them. And double check them.

Will have to agree with you on Elvana. I can NEVER unhear or UNSEE that lol
Glad you have your pump back AND good tips for the newbie pumpers (@Mel dCP :))

I’ve got a spreadsheet with all my basal profiles that I’ve tried, plus the date so I can cross reference with my traces. Once a scientist... :D I’ve got a spare pod in my bag, complete with 10ml vial of insulin and a couple of half unit syringes, so if I get a catastrophic failure I can still shoot up. I’ve never actually injected myself with a syringe before, so that’ll be a learning experience. Saves carrying a pen around and wasting it after a month.

Just at the diabetes clinic waiting for my “advanced pump training” session, there are a frightening number of amputees here :( Seven that I can see, I’m assuming it’s a special clinic this afternoon.

@Mel dCP I knew you would have all the info stored somewhere :). That is worrying with all the amputees at the diabetic clinic. Thats what happens when you don't look after yourself very well!!!

hope all went well robs xx

It didn't go well, no call, panicking and in the end I went up the Job Centre by bus. I have written, in length about The Horror's of Universal Credit on the Benefit's section. So upset about what happened today.
Thank you for asking Karen x
