Type 1'stars R Us

They are, but I don't mess around with halves, though I may have to give in, or I may not.

Halves are great for fine tuning. I’ve had a half unit pen for novoslow for at least ten years now, maybe more. One of the good things about changing to Levemir was that it’s produced by Novo Nordisk and goes in the Echo half unit pen too. I have a blue one for the Levemir and the red one for Novoslow.

Morning all! Having had a pretty horrible week on Main Paid work front, a somewhat unexpected week on the Sunday Job/Music Teaching front, but a relatively splendid week on the BS management front (apart from the one stress spike, which I walked off...) it's been a much better (but still needing tweaks) time at both Main Paid Work and Sunday Job/Music Teaching, but a relatively horrid week on the BS front - it's my first descent into colder weather since insulin began in my world and I seem to be needing much less of both bolus and basal.

It's either that or my pancreas is playing games yet again. Basal testing will be in the near future and I think I've sorted the bolus for now. At least enough not to be landing at work on 3s, as I've done all this week, having followed my usual routines, and being used to getting to work on 6s. It's getting a bit boring sitting still and quiet for the first ten minutes or so, no one is used to me doing that!

Still, 4 more days of students, 1 day of mandatory training to go, then a Sunday off the Organ stool gives me 8 clear days off! Yippee!!

This type 1 nonsense its oh so easy is it not. ;););)

Been taking my overnight Levemir in my bum for past 2 weeks or so and despite taking about 15% less I have just produced what is probably my best ever figures. Got a bit to go to match some of you guys, but 35+ years of running high, I am very wary when I drop below 5, especially when I am not at home.

I have set my range to be between 4 and 8.5 and 78% in target is the best since I got the Libre 5 months ago. Not sure where 8.2 average glucose comes from though:arghh::arghh:

The Novopen Echo was one of the best tools I got given for half units. It reduced me having to make the decision of running too higher because 1u extra would have been too much or having to eat more because of that 1u. I am fairly insulin sensitive though this has reduced a bit as I perceive my honeymoon has faded a bit in the last year.

I've just this week picked up my first prescription for the Levemir penfills as I pleaded for half units on them too (and a switch away from Lantus) at DAFNE. The Levemir is going in my red pen though and the Fiasp staying in the blue.

Have my half unit pen on order. Sooo excited!

Well, am half way through my fortnight long staycation, decided to jump on the train to see the new V&A gallery in Dundee about an hour away from me. Nice bit of architecture, the Charles Rennie Mackintosh room they've rebuilt from the bits and pieces they had in storage for decades is a work of art.

And right next door is RSS Discovery, custom built in Dundee in 1900 to explore Antarctica, went there, did that, and finally came home more than a century later. A beautiful restoration job, it was really strange looking at the historical pictures of it waaay down south, then walking around it's decks today thinking this big lump of beautiful wood has done all that.

Evening seives.

I’m knackered, full of curry and been quaffing gin in a tin so mildly inebriated on top. Had an incredible day with >700,000 of my closest friends, and diabetically was better than expected. I popped the pump on a temp basal of -20% and still had to take a couple of dextrose tabs along the way, but I’m really pleased with how easy it was to manage compared to the last one I went on in June.

As promised, here’s my graph for the day :)

Now I'm all homesick for Dundee! Whilst I only lived there for a couple of years it is where all my family is from, where many still are and I feel immediately at home the minute I get there!

Morning all! I am girding my loins for a morning on the piano stool rather than the organ stool after the organ's quite unnecessary tantrum last week. I am in negotiations with engineers!

Morning.

Going to have a rethink this is the 3rd day I've woken up at 2.4 :shifty: which while I don't mind it means my really low during the night.

Think might have to knock that extra 1/2 unit of Dulac I started to use :couchpotato: or move the night time to morning :writer:.

When my head is a little more with it I shall give it some thoughts.

@Mel dCP that picture of you looks like you were have a rather fun time :)
