Afternoon all, bit high through the night, had a bit too much wine, and didn’t want to have a hypo on top, so didn’t correct at bedtime and just turned my high alarms off - but unfortunately the usual BG lowering effects didn’t kick in, grrr. Got to love the unpredictability of this stupid disease, eh? Down into the purple now, but could have done without it, tbh.
Not long got back from the dentist, just a checkup today. Apparently my quite receded gums are looking much healthier and have come back a little this year - basically since I got to normal-ish BG levels. Were any of you ever told about the effect of diabetes on your teeth and gums at any point? Because I certainly wasn’t. Had the fear of god put into me about eyes, feet, heart and kidneys, but not any of the other stuff. It wasn’t until I started with this dentist about four years ago that the subject even came up. He was super impressed by my cyborg accessories, though

A quick scrape of a spot of plaque, and I’m good to go for another six months.
Quiet afternoon reading my first responder manual and waiting for a delivery, we’re doing catastrophic haemorrhaging and airways this week, so some good juicy (quite literally) stuff. Of course, when I see blood, I always have a deep seated urge to dip a test strip in it...
