I agree, maybe she was just trying to convince me not to correct. I do tend to use a sledgehammer to crack a nut, and find it alot easier to bring my BG back up after a hypo than down from a hyper.Sorry, I do not know about that.
I bolus for carbs and correct knowing what insulin I have on board.
I don’t distinguish between any different types of BG highs. I treat them all the same.
This works for me.
But ... all together now ...
“We are all different”
Has anyone else been told that your liver can take Glucose back out from your BG? I assume the liver creating glucose from protein due to low carbs works the same as a hypo liver dump?
Very interesting!
That's the first time I've ever heard of a liver taking glucose back!
I have been T1D for 17 years and before joining this forum a couple of months ago I had no idea the liver had any role in T1D, I have now learnt it is one of the biggest factors.Well known process - usually happens when you’ve just injected a correction thinking the grab back isn’t going to happen( or when you forgot you had a hypo x hours ago)
It’s the reason some roller coaster up and down all day.
It’s amazing what can be learnt from the real T1 experts. I guarantee that you know something that someone else with similar experience doesn’t. That’s the beauty of all us lot being part of the forum.I have been T1D for 17 years and before joining this forum a couple of months ago I had no idea the liver had any role in T1D, I have now learnt it is one of the biggest factors.
Yes, I have been on a rollercoaster for a while now with daily hypos and a few hypers.
Thank you all for your help.

Good night. The other side of Question Time, which I’ve had to come to bed to avoid in case I accidentally shoot the telly.
They are just jealous because you are happier than them !!I've just lost all credibility at work after laughing at Scotts post, an uncontrollable laughing mad man does not sit well in the office(quiet literally)
Wot about an Aussie shrug, too?A UK ~shrug~
Or a Gallic ~shrug~
Isn’t that a punch in the gob?Wot about an Aussie shrug, too?
I presume the finger in the air is a sign of seeking the direction and strength of the breeze, not a rude salute !!@hh1 basicall
agree, bolus for protein is usually take half the dose you would for carbs for it, with a finger in the air as a caveat!
Nah, dunno what the Aussie term for that is, apart from that phrase. The shrug is probably more as part of answering a question with "Maybe'. Example: 'Can I borrow ya umbrella'? "Yeah, maybe (shrug). I'll have ta ask the missus. She baggeds it first". (she took possession of it first).Isn’t that a punch in the gob?
