Seahouses sounds lovely! I’d not heard of it before your posts but now I want to go there too.
It is certainly a beautiful part of the country with Bamburgh to the North and Craster (with its kippers) to the South.
My partner comes from Newcastle but, unfortunately, when we go up there most of our time is spent visiting his elderly relatives so I don't get to explore the area as much as I'd like.
A couple of years ago, I finally got him to agree to a week of sight seeing (whilst staying with his parents). We visited Bamburgh, Craster, Dunstanburgh, Seahouses, Farne Islands, Warkworth, Alnwick, walked along some of Hadrians Wall and spent a day mountain biking around Kelder.
As a Southerner, I didn't know much about the area but love how it is still relatively undiscovered.
Glad you have had the weather to enjoy it, this time of the year ... perhaps I'll get to check some of it out over Christmas.
It has been lovely. Walked along the fabulous beaches, 6 miles yesterday and 8 today. Superb weather and behaving blood sugars. Happy!
Yep, walked from Seahouses to Bamburgh today, magical! View attachment 29849
I can’t fly, and I can’t sing. And I’m rubbish at housework. But I did have a stint as a motorcycle race mechanic, which is much more fun than hoovering@Mel dCP is there anything you don’t do?
Jewellery maker, chemist, first responder to be, IT support, teacher, diabetes tamer, ...
So ... Hoover + motorcycle mechanic = hovercraft = flying and does lip-syncing a song count as singing?I can’t fly, and I can’t sing. And I’m rubbish at housework. But I did have a stint as a motorcycle race mechanic, which is much more fun than hoovering
Sounds like the call to the school was like being a first responder where improvisation is key !! Well done.!!Evening all,
Been an interesting day, to say the least. Got my first call from the educational supply support staff agency I’d recently signed up with to make my way over the mountain to a new school to help out in their IT department for the day. Got there and it turns out they needed me to cover for the actual teacher... mild adrenaline spike in my BG, because although I did a PGCE, it was last century, and I haven’t actually taught for, well, forever. And they hadn’t left any work either, so I just had to wing it... a couple of correction doses had me running mid fives for most of the day, so it wasn’t too bad.
Got my final assessment for the first responder thing tomorrow, so keep everything crossed for me!
Cannot see your footprints on the sand. Was you being carried ??Yep, walked from Seahouses to Bamburgh today, magical! View attachment 29849
Eclectic wall paper, love the idea. And chicken kiev adds to the flavour!!Aye up.
More experimentation with backed spud and chicken Kiev's seems that later on tonight I will spike so going to try, wing it, split dose and see what that does.
If it goes low then I guess it will upset the Libre lady which will be fun
On a more plus note just made up a new desktop wallpaper of old Soviet Space Race propaganda pictures to go with the Alphonse Mucha, Bauhaus, Chinese propaganda, Soviet WWII ones and British WWI ones I already have.
@Japes sounds like you at east had a more interesting day than I did.
@Mel dCP hope you went to class in moose boots and best purple hair do?
MorningOMG, I've seen it all now
