So, school sports day tomorrow. Chances of my sugars behaving while sitting on a playing field with no shade and endiring a picnic with the kids?

@Fairygodmother and her errant brain. Just a normalish kind of day then really.
Hope you've regained a degree of control now.
My brain usually goes down the route of...." not my problem mate, you and that useless pancreas can figure this one out"
and then it chips in with " just bloody eat anything and everything now or else we're all gonna be in the s***"
Not sure I could do advanced arithmetic at any time let alone hypo:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Back from the gym and who would believe it....... 13.8. Feel better for the workout, just got to judge the correction dose right now. Easy peasy I hear you cry.
Time to sit out in the garden with coffee and wife. Hopefully I've not digressed today or else sugars will be least of my worries:):):)

Afternoon, my pancreatically challenged buddies :)

I appear to have the elusive T1 unicorn line today, after my gentle not-really-a-hypo of this morning... hope you’re all staying cool and hydrated, I have to confess to struggling rather. Avocado and king prawn salad for dinner when it’s cooled down later.

HMMM bit up and down for me today as well massive spike mid morning, think I know where that came from, then down to 3.5 actually left it alone for a change now running at 4.5 and tea is on the make :D

All in all not bad.

13.8 after a tabata training work out? not had a spike like that after a gym session, most odd :wideyed:

I did have to Google "tabata training" which looks interesting, but not sure my lazy fat ass would be up for it :hilarious: I'll stick to the weights and cardio :D

Ooooo what a Lovely you line! Avocado and king prawn here too. Cat will have one prawn and we’ll add broccoli, a bit of toast and whatever something else him indoors chooses as it’s his turn to cook.

Please no. Look how much hassle we had starting this thread:):):).
" what makes them think they've got errant brains ?"
I suppose if we did though we would most likely forget what we had started the thread within the space of a hypo:)

Horses for courses. As long as you enjoy what you do then that's all that matters.
I probably fall into " most odd" category but it's nothing to do with being diabetic.:wacky::wacky::wacky:

Had my tea about 5.30 bolused correctly for it bgs were 5.8 b4 tea. sat in the garden aftetwards in the shade about an hour later felt a bit shakey so came in an finger pricked bgs down to 1.3 w.t.f and now ive probably over ate and me heads banging i hate this diabetes lark

When it goes as low as 1.3 you have to push it back up as fast as you can, not over correcting isn't really an option.

Hi @karen8967 . Hope you're feeling better now. Out of curiosity what was your tea that you bolused for?
I had a sandwich 2 pieces brown bread with ham and salad 35g carbs and a pork and pickle pie 32g my ratio is 1-10 so gave myself 6and a half units of tresiba and no iob as i had my dinner about 12

Hi @karen8967 . Sounds yummy.
As far as I'm aware Fiasp is v. fast acting ( novorapid user myself )
Only an observation here but .....
Brown bread very slow to digest
Pork and pickle pie, not sure but maybe quite fatty. If so this would slow down digestion.
I would say that the tea you had took longer to digest than you maybe expected. This along side your pre bolus of Fiasp is what caused the resulting low.
Top marks for restraining yourself with the hypo treatment :)
Have a good evening.

That seems like a good calculation. My only guess would be that maybe the pork and pickle pie has a pizza effect, and the fat in it made it take longer to absorb the carbs. So the fiasp had a windown of opportunity to cause a bit of havoc, in between.

That's just a guess, I have no idea if that might be the case.
