Looks like we agree on that.

Looks that way.
Do i need to lower basal in this hot weather?i take my fiasp just as im about to eat and normally drop about 1-2mmol then start rising but today i mustnt of just went down im currently at 11 now but wont correct see what numbers are in the morning .my insulin tends to stay in my system for 5 hrs i get a little drop . il stop boring yous now otherwise il end up writing an essay

You are most definitely not boring anyone.
I find the hot weather makes me more insulin sensitive, I always struggle to keep levels up, especially when I'm at work.
I think you're doing the right thing not worrying about the 11. See how everything is in the morning.
As you're probably beginning to realise diabetes is anything but predictable.
I notice you're 15 months since diagnosis. I don't know if you've experienced the honeymoon period but,and it's only a but, your teatimes low could have been your pancreas giving a little bit of unexpected insulin. Unfortunately our pancrei don't just cease to function. They can linger on for quite awhile spluttering bits here and there.
Anyway it's all information to store away and take forward, tomorrow is another day.
Have a good nights sleep and enjoy this glorious weather.

Write away ! I always found that I needed less insulin in hot weather. Not sure if it is because the insulin sensitivity is better or if the warmth improves absorption. My minimum adjustment are about 20% up or down but that will vary from person to person.
Currently with a viral cold in winter (here in Oz) I have put the pump's basal settings plus bolus amounts up 30% by day and 20% by night. Just wish I had Fiasp instead of Novorapid in the pump to try it out !

I need less in hot weather - carrying a pack of haribos around all day for unexpected wobbly moments

Staying on the subject. This heat has increased my IS too... Basal related. Will need to drop a U.

Hi,
I notice from your profile, you also take metformin.?
What I know about the drug is it increases IS along with stunting liver dump.. Coupled with the heat, it may not have helped with the crash...?

Consult your HCPs regarding your med mix...

With an insulin pump you can program the bolus to be released all at once or a % now and the rest 2 hours later. It takes practice but can work well for dealing with the 'longer-acting' meals like Indian cuisine (not the sweet desserts!!) etc

I see that quite a few of us have had an ‘interesting’ day. Hope you’re feeling more stable @karen8967, @therower, @Knikki and all who’ve had a bit of bother.
This evening, after today’s yo-yo bonanza and BG getting in the way of meeting appointments and getting things done, let alone feeling good, I’m longing for a break. I feel I’ve done my sentence, served my time - all 48+ years of it and now I want a bit of respite.
Ah well, wishes, horses, beggars etc - hope everyone has a good day tomorrow!
Sleep well and happy dreams.

I have done at my last consultant appointmènt a couple of weeks ago id stopped taking the teatime one but had to carry on with the morning one due to the is and the metformin is the only thing that helps with it

Thanks fairygodmother im fine now

To offset all the wishes and horses: just remember the way to a man's money is to look in the washing machine !!

I had a hypo too this afternoon cycling, missed it coming on, I was 5.6 scanning when I left the shop and dropped to 3.6 in 10 minutes when I got home, I'd had a 17g carbs scotch egg too before setting off home, hot weather and cycling, but it soon came back up.

My eldest lass came over for the vicars visit and that went ok, no lighting bolts have hit me anyway

I have had a virus bug and put the pump's basal rate up, same for boluses. 30% by day, 20% by night.
Thanks to the 'wonders' of time zones I had to arise at 4.30am here in Adelaide, South Australia to participate in a webinar aired in France.
The advantage was that I could program the pump's basal from 20% to 30% to meet the Dawn (effect !).
Now if my pump was an oven or other device I could 'pre-program' it !!!

Morning friends. Steady night here, a little pottering about took me from my waking six to over eight in a matter of minutes. Thanks, liver...

Kev, glad it went ok yesterday, lovely x

Hope you all have a diabetically boring day, with BGs doing nothing “interesting”

Mid 11s on waking, an extra 1/2 unit and an hour later I'm on 9.6, there's a bowl of porridge sat winking at me in the kitchen, I go fetch the young un at 8.30 for the school run so will eat breakfast in two halves, cloudy here at the moment but it should warm up

Have a good day y'all.
