GGGGRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! Had a Libre sensor fail and because of that I fogot to top up with lantus this morning, so normalish breakfast and now all 11.6 with an up arrow, Butt Monkies, is all I have to say blat some corrective in and see what happens.

If I did this I used to put in some Lantus to cover the rest of its stretch - it helped. Good luck with the day @Knikki

Not a bad start as woke at 7am at 4mmol/l, stuck a new libre on this morning, I pin them to the underside of my arm, touch wood haven't had any fails with them being on the underside, then had a macca shake and no insulin as was planning a run but calf muscle is still painful from a pop 3 weeks ago so did a hit workout instead and afterwards had 1 unit and now sat at 6.6mmol/l, have a good day all and don't let the heat send you hypo :)

 *insert string of expletives here*

10.1 and rising fast. Like DP but mid morning. What’s that all about? Serves me right for being smug about my unicorn day yesterday... had it the other day too. Still, better than waking at 4am to deal with it, but grrrrr. :banghead: Topping up with half units every half hour or so to keep it under control. Got to love a bit of stacking, tracking it very carefully in two apps so I know exactly how much IOB I have, don’t panic!

@Knikki ooops. Hope you get back to normal levels soon
Have you had many Libres fall off? I have been on the system since January and they stick to me like limpets

Yeah they will be normal again soon.

As for the Libre the answer is no as that was on ly the 2nd one I have worn, 50% fail rate :D, at the moment still new to it.

@Fairygodmother I would have doen the same with the Lantus if I was at home, but in work at the moment, its not an issue I can get back normal again in a while, just stupid, stupid me to forget.

hi juicy i got a terrible reaction to the libre after several months arms are destroyed .i had a sensor left so decided to try it on a different part of my body ive settled on the lower back just to the side i have had it on for 4 days now and its been pretty accurate give or take a mmol and no rash or irritation at the moment so all good .:joyful:

That's good news @karen8967 about your libre, hope it stays ok there, if you do get problems use some Cavlon spray on your skin before you apply it, Cavlon applies a barrier onto the skin to protect it. I used to get red irritated areas but think my skins got used to it now, it's getting the darned sticky adhesive off which is a pain otherwise you end up with black round marks on your arm, I get a wet towel and rub them off, leaves your skin looking inflamed for a bit but works

I use one of the swabs to take the sticky adhesive off. Works a treat. Love being able to scrub my arm in the shower after removal :)

If in doubt blame the weather. It cannot answer back !! The challenge is keeping one's cool. Even an annoyance about something trivial on waking etc might just make the difference. Or less exercise the day before. Keep smiling (and swearing, it is helps !!!)

I use methylated spirits on a cotton wool swab.to get the sticky residue off my skin. It is partly effective. If I am not going to be using skin near that site I also apply a bit of orange oil which seems a better solvent, but make sure I remove the oil as soon as possible as it is a bit toxic.
Has anybody tried or used any of the Stoma adhesive and removal products ?

For Libre stickage, I use Skin Tac wipes to nail it and the MiaoMiao on, and once I’ve taken it off, some acetone nail varnish remover followed quickly by some Bepanthen nappy cream which makes the skin lovely and soft again :)

lol
"magic" is complete silliness on my part.
Its either insulin or food (usually jelly babies if i'm low) as one counteracts the other and if I get the right balance its "magic".

Tony

Hehe. Was hoping for some miracle cure then BUT Jelly Babies work for me, so I would say they are magic

Todays been a bit up and down, I cursed the extra 1/2u correction all morning and cursed Lantus all afternoon, twice at 3.9 and another down to 3, mid morning lunch and mid afternoon, but I've been up and down the ladders in the sun and cycled around 10 miles.

My 11 year old tried to troll me at tea time demanding what I'd class as a low carb tea :D a chicken salad but I've had rice with mine :p and she had a caramel cake at the cake shop before we went swimming

@kev-w . Window cleaning and using a bike in this weather? I'm in awe of you. All that swimming and gym work seems to have been worth it.:)
A fairly steady day, only two blips.
Work management decided to treat the workforce to an ice cream and drink at midday. Arranged to have the okey van park up for 2 hrs. Well all the non- diabetic types went full on with some very strange concoctions. Whatever happened to just plain old 99 and a flake? I settled for a tub and small flake. Okey man couldn't understand why I didn't want razz ( sauce ) or sprinkles or chocolate drops. Really couldn't be ars* d to explain it to him. Managed to do a correction dose to stop the resulting spike getting to out of hand.
2nd blip was after gym. Wasn't totally unexpected but still wasn't expecting it to go quite so high. It was a case of waiting for the correction bolus to play catch up. Coming back into range now.
Another night with the fan on I think.
Hope you all sleep well.
