@helensaramay what a rubbish review! When I first started Fiasp it worked as soon as I was thinking about injecting it! Now after 9odd months is is pretty much the same as NovoSluggish, well a wee bit quicker! Admittedly it seems to work quicker in the pump!

@smc4761 welcome to the pump club . I didn't have the saline to start with, just the pump to play around with for 10 days and a few set changes to do. When I went "live" the DSN had got 3 moths supply in for me.....3ml resevoirs, I will only be needing the 1.8ml, and the super long. 80 cm tubing on the sets. They will be changed on my next order lol How did you manage sleeping last night?

Hi @porl69 we are only getting the 60 cm tubing less likelihood of it catching. We have been given the new applicator as well from Medtronic which is soo simple to use. At moment I take quite a lot of insulin so would expect to use the 3ml reservoirs

I have seen the square and dual wave, but at moment have no idea what they are, the instrction manual runs to nearly 300 pages.

We were told to play about with it to get used to menus etc. Managed to set Bolus and Basal wizard.

Sleeping was a bit difficult as I tend to bounce all over the place. Most of night the pump stayed in my shorts pocket but when I finally woke up it had fell out and was lying on bed. I did roll over onto pump a few times and had to sleep on my other side

Did you get this from Amazon, or can you advise the make and I will look at buying this

Just been onto my home insurance, to insure the pump,and it cost an extra £35 for 8 months, to add to my current insurance

Evening all,
Reading all this pump discussion makes me feel like a Luddite. I'm not sure why BG swings, got as high as 14.3 and low as 2.9. I've corrected 3 times thru the day and still the little madam is at 8.1 with only a slice of toast for lunch. Zero carb supper which I didn't eat and manically bad head.
Don't know where to put myself or what to do

How times have changed. Just fired off a message to my band mates informing then that I maybe a little late due to the effects of eye drops wearing off from an impending retinal scan appointment tomorrow affecting my ability & fitness to drive...

There isn't even a swimming pool to "park" in..

Good morning and Happy March 1st. Off out to catch the train to Winchester soon, to go on a first aid course regarding a job with children with Hampshire County Council. So a new start with new opportunities. ( I did go back to my old job the one I had last summer, food sampler/promoter, so I am hoping to combine them both)

So Etch A Sketch reader by the bed, scan arm 2.6, reaction? Mels Cat......and that's not right.....

Trundle downstairs blood test says 4.6, that's more like it.

It is sometimes scary the way Libre reads your glucose levels even with a 10 minute delay. Had I not been the CBA that I am sometimes I could have gone in to full panic mode at 2.6 stuffed face (yes even more than I normally do) and over corrected.

Least xDrip was closer at a 5.0.

All goes to show that you should never be fully reliant on tech that can lead you astray. And I really don't believe you if you come back and say "oh well my Libre is same as bloods all the time" sorry NO it just don't work that way.

Anyway glad its Friday.

Might go wonder around the forum and see if I can upset some one.

Morning and happy St David’s Day!

Up early, considering its half term, but that was to get some tickets ordered as soon as they went on sale. BG all good for the last 24, which is nice. Was on call yesterday evening, had a shout to go to the outpatients department at our local hospital (no emergency department) to help a chap having epileptic fits. He had five while we were there, I’ve never seen one “in the wild” before. Made him a nest of pillows and blankets (he was a strong man) so he didn’t hurt himself and gave him some oxygen. Was weird that actual doctors and nurses were asking OUR advice on how to treat him...

Have a great trip, @helensaramay ! Not at all jealous... (I’m lying)

@SueJB - I don’t think you’re a Luddite either. I was quite happy (well, not thrilled, obviously) with injections for a long time. It was only when I found some pretty insurmountable issues that meant I was injecting up to 18 times a day that I asked to change - one I discovered there were tubeless options. I’d never entertained the idea if it means cannulas and pipework.

Today is my travel day - I have a pile of stuff which needs to go in my case but haven't decided how many jumpers I will need to take. My hand luggage pile is nearly complete - pump stuff on the pile and USB hand warmer (powered by Lithium batteries) on the pile and my junky-cable bag is there too.

It will be a late arrival so hope the apartment is ok when I arrive - I like staying in self-service apartments when I travel alone so I have more space and don't have to eat out all the time but they rarely have 24/7 reception which means I have to pick up my keys from a safety box and let myself in.

I have both Fiasp and NovoRapid insulin in my bag. I decided I wouldn't have taken the Humalog even if the prescription was updated on time as I wouldn't want to risk something new away from home. However, my arm is Libred-up and preparing for lift off (and maybe saunas).

@Knikki I will keep an eye out for your mischief. I hope you have fun.

And, finally, pinch-punch, white rabbits and all that malarky.

Enjoy the time. On Novosluggish one needs 'long-acting' food, long and low BSL rises. Protein can do it too!!

Hi @SueJB, stress of all this new stuff is probably upsetting madam quite a lot. The main things are bolus and basal.
Stick fast to your DSN as you majestically flow down the tech river, repeating bolus, basal; basal , bolus, you will get there.
You can use a mobile phone well enough to get from A to B? Then you can manage an insulin pump (and whatever nickname you give it)!! The trick is having your DSN work with you and help you find the best way to grapple with it, to understand enough to have it do your bidding !!! Breathe steadily, and evenly and move about if you feel overwhelmed. It is also a lot easier when you have it in your hands and can get used to it. Just like a mobile phone !!

@smc4761 the only reason I have put my pump on the specialist pump insurance because they guarantee a replacement pump in 24 hours IF anything happens with my pump. House insurances are notoriously slow in paying out and tend to drag their feet
