Type 1'stars R Us

Good morning pinhole prickling challenging type 1 people with diabetes Awoke to a rather rainy, blustery day and double figures too
I need to go out this morning, some food shopping, go into town to collect my prescription then up to the post office to post my DNA swabs to Houston Texas............... then I'll have lift off, can't wait for the results
Take care out there folks x

Good morning all
Set change last night and new vial of insulin! BGs steady thru the night and woke to a nice 7.8. Breakfast bolus wizard now needs adjusting (again) as I am sat on a 11.1! Not loving T1D at the moment......

Good morning teabags. I love co-codemol, the route to better sleep. I’m a tad surprised by the amount of pain management involved in this malarkey and the ways to overcome gastric responses to morphine: avoid the stuff.
Bloods were super frustrating yesterday, Fiasp just didn’t have any effect so it’s lucky I’ve the yearly Consultant review booked for tomorrow.
Hamish is getting more flexible and is happy now to come with me to the pond to feed the fish. He’s negotiated the awkward back step, survived the muddy patches, squeezed through the narrow archway and will be taking stuff to the compost heap today. He’s not yet done the steep front drive as his body-sharer’s a bit nervous about it but he’ll have to soon. He’s great at climbing stairs though.

@Fairygodmother so are you running a 10k first or straight onto London marathon

I am relieved the Deceased Large Rodent Beastie is no longer anywhere in the vicinity and that we got a bin collection on the right day, without strong winds blowing full bins over whilst the DLRB was in the bin, having been placed there on Sunday by a Very Brave and Kind Friend who came to deal with the DLRB for me.

There appears to be a nasty bug doing the rounds in my bit of the world, the sick list, both staff and students, was one of the longest I've seen for a while. We spent much of the day with cleaning stuff, sanitising desks, keyboards, mouses, door handles and anything that stood still long enough to be cleaned!!

@helensaramay . How annoying. It’s instances like you’ve experienced that I find most annoying with being diabetic.
Injections, correction doses, carb counting etc just take it in my stride.
Queue at chemist, miss a gym session because a DN wants/ needs to see me and such like really gets me in a foul mood.
Hopefully your delivery has arrived without any spin or climbs being compromised.

Thinking about the DLRB episode perhaps this is not the time and place to mention the time when I had to retrieve a live small rodent beastie from underneath the small gap below the motor of my fridge freezer at 3am in the morning.....one of my little darlings brought LSRB in during the night....I very bravely had to dangle said creature by its tail quickly through kitchen, out of back door and launched over fence as usual method of capturing under plastic box was impracticable.......donned protective clothing of rubber gloves and boots with my night attire just in case........
....husband was incapacitated having just broken a rib that day / trying to sleep upright on sofa hence me being up at 3am so had to deal with it alone....not conducive to getting back to sleep given adrenaline rush....
....have now changed policy of letting little darlings out at night to hopefully prevent any repeat performances....so far so good...

@helensaramay dont get me started with UPS. I placed my first pump order with them Tuesday they delivered Wednesday, lucky someone was at home. A couple of items were to follow according to Medtronic.

I signed up with UPS My choice so i could arrange delivery at local shop. Could not figure out how to do this though. Worked it out finally on Saturday.

Checked Medtronic website for my order and it advised all delivered. So I called them today and they confirmed UPS had delivered my outstanding items to local on shop.ON THURSDAY????????? How I had not even set it up

UPS delivers when and if they want to in my eyes they’re god awful because the closest shop to me is much too far away just to make a random trip to to collect supplies so all in all if we miss a delivery it can be a frustrating journey to collect it all, I’ve tried numerous times to tell them when to deliver but they don’t seem to care and do as they please.

Morning all!

My get up and go seems MIA this morning. Needs to return fairly fast as I'm the responsible grown-up for the whole department today rather than the tag team Main Colleague being the Boss and me being in Charge. On the other hand, it's Wednesday so I've earned my get out early card, and have an evening with no pressing chores to be done, so may take myself off after work for a longer than usual early evening walk via the coffee shop.

Morning colanders.

Got my 6 monthly diabetic clinic this morning. Between this and pump clinics feel like I have never been away from hospital these past 2 weeks

Good morning all.
BG's are being more friendly (AT LAST) was single figures all thru the night. Left my meter in work along with my fastclix! Got home and got my old meter out and had to physically poke my finger with a ultrafine needle....they don't make you bleed much....so had to poke a few time OUCH lol.
