Aw what a horrible day Cumbs! Hope you’re being looked after.
 
What a horrid day, @Cumberland hope you are having a gentle, relaxing day today!

My new laces worked! Not a single achy moment on the 7 miles walk around my local country park. There's a brook running through it, and there's the Wrong Side of the Brook and the Right Side. I only walk the Wrong Side when it's dry enough not to need wellies, or when the horses aren't out trekking in a gang of fifteen or so. Today looked as if I'd manage it...

I dodged the horses this time, as they were lining up to leave just as I was about to choose my side for walking, by walking fast along the Right Side until the first (of 4) bridges and then crossing over to the Wrong Side. By the time I got to the turnaround point of the 4th Bridge, everyone else had obviously gone home or to the play area for early lunch, as I walked all the way back along the Right Side which has been newly resurfaced for the cyclists' convenience meeting only one cyclist (aged about 4) and one runner (supposedly Responsible for Small Cyclist). Neither of whom seemed able to watch out for other path users which is excusable in the 4-year-old, but less so in the Responsible Adult. Luckily I wasn't walking near the brook or I might've fallen in in my attempts to be safe...
 

Wow, sorry to hear this. Take it easy.

One thought comes to mind especially in the kitchen with a small dog about likely to get stood on or tripped over.
Have you found yourself adopting a more tentative position when walking.? I know I've had to swerve to avoid my dog when he starts rushing up & skipping about my ankles...?

Lol, my wife swears he's trying to take her down..
 


We used to have free-range guinea pigs (they lived in two colonies, one under the stairs - open plan stairs - and one under the kitchen tables. They had little houses that my husband made (wooden with an entrance and a hinged lift up lid). They were remarkably clean and loveable little things. Eventually all our girls got old and we were running a home for aged guinea pigs. Once they'd all passed on we went back to having dogs. The girls were wonderful company though.

However, what they also were was a huge danger when walking in the kitchen. We learned to walk with a sort of sliding movement so that if we did inadvertently play footy with a giggly-pig, she didn't go far and wasn't hurt.

Not usually......BUT.......the grandkids are off school at the moment. Along with utter chaos when I get home I was , today greeted with a Victoria sponge, made by my granddaughters fair hand. Well it would be rude to not sample it.
A good size wedge shot me upto 16+, I only had chance for a 5 minute pre bolus.
It was lovely as was the look on her face watching me eat it.
Everything is coming back down now, sneaky feeling I may go low later but I’ll cross that bridge if and when I have to.
So yes I can be a cake muncher under the right circumstances
 
@slip. Evening bro. Sorry to hear the back is playing up again, hopefully taking it easy will see you right sooner rather than later.
Got a dodgy left knee at the moment ( injury from rugby days ) and it’s so **** annoying having that constant niggle which I’m certain is nowhere near as bad as you’re suffering.
