Commiserations!funnily enough I've tried mending an old singer m/c earlier this year, but unsuccessfully I'm afraid, I bought a Stussy t-shirt from E-bay and it wears like a mini skirt so I was going to take it up, but anyway
Hypo again, 2.8 on the Libre & 3.5 on a finger stick but I'm ok, a little headache waiting to start and a medium porridge waiting to be eaten then my little to take to school and windows to clean.
Have a good day y'all
Patience is a virtue but also can hold the lid on a pressure cooker too long !! I know the temptation to thump the high BSLS down to subzero ! But the see-saw is not fun to be on. Even on a pump the boluses are the same, do you abide by the suggested bolus or override it ?Annoyed and yep this time of the morning.
Out last night had curry, i also have download the carb count details from Bertie online.
So was 6.8 calculated about 80 grams carb so 1 for 10 in goes 8.
Fine.
Hour later up at 12.5, ok expected that, dump another 4 in, Novo Rapid.
10pm dropped to 3.5, did not expect that, so couple of Jaffa cakes and in with the lantus.
This morning.
Etch A Sketch is at 15.9 going up. Gggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!
8 rapid ( don't care if it crashed me that's what i want now) plus the rest of the lantus.
It is baking hot in this room so that might not be helping. Or this carb count last night was seriously wrong, if that's the case why it drop so low last night?
Or this whole carb counting thing from a list is less use than me using Mk1 eye ball, adding how old I am divided by the distance to the moon and adding 5 to get the dose i need.
Sorry for the ar5eness of this just royally hacked of at the moment.
So bad I've crash my SPV in disgust.

a crunchie
28g of carbsI'm now wondering how much insulin I would need to take for a crunchie........
probably shouldn't have had the jelly babies as well
Do we think BG can drop via the placebo effect?
ummmmmm...........probably should have just had the jelly babies and not the Crunchie! how many carbs per jelly baby? I don't do jelly babies, glucotabs 4g each and you won't want any more than you need!
@SueJB sorry for your loss.
On an update now running at 8.9 and level on the Etch A Sketch, see what happens when breakfast hits in an hour.

I hope that arrow is levelling out at the right values now.
Your comment reminds me of something I've been meaning to ask.
I have read a few people mentioning they are waiting for their BG to come down before eating. I am too usually impatient (and hungry) to do this but wonder if my/our approach of big correction and eating is usual and/or should be avoided.
I would be interested how others react at mealtime when they realise their BG is very high (whatever that is).
Apologies. With the pump and settings such as insulin:carb ratio and insulin sensitivity one can enter a carb amount for a meal ( or cake) and a bolus dose is calculated. which I can either enter as is or alter if desired.Suggested bolus??? I did know there was one TBH but as I'm not on a pump i simply take a guess and shove some in.
Anyway breakfast in a minute so will recalculate after i have eaten and will probably stick some more in, maybe.
i only ever correct at meal times this is what consultant told me so if high i give extra bolus with meal depending on how high it is i may do half b4 meal and half after mealI hope that arrow is levelling out at the right values now.

That’s what I was taught on the DAFNE course - but I found I’d then be spending hours really high, waiting for the next time-slot to correct. I understand their fears regarding stacking insulin, which is why they recommend it.i only ever correct at meal times this is what consultant told me so if high i give extra bolus with meal depending on how high it is i may do half b4 meal and half after meal
I was told the same as @karen8967 so that's what I always did until recently. I can't remember where but on a thread somewhere here people were talking about correction doses at times other than pre-meals. I spoke with my DSN and with her agreement and 'extreme caution'I hope that arrow is levelling out at the right values now.
