@urbanracer . So it was a definitive NO then ?
Strange that we are told, in order to help with hypo unawareness we should increase our HbA1C.
Perhaps you should have asked for the old " drop and cough ".
At least then endo could have held what he was talking.:)

Yes 'NO' (sounds like that Vicar of Dibley character) I was told that when the price comes down to the point where sensors are comparable to strips, they (the sensors) will be made more widely available.

Well, just back from the annual liaison with my local endo's.

Me: can I have libre sensors on prescription?
Doc: No sorry, :stop: your blood glucose levels are too well controlled. You need an a1c above 8.5 AND hypo unawareness.
Me: But my a1c is well controlled and I seldom have hypo's largely as a result of using the Libre.
Doc: I understand, but I don't make the rules. Sorry (again).

Lucky that I'm paid obscenely well then ! :banghead::greedy:

But, but, but, but.................if your well controlled blood sugars were because you did loads of finger prick testing, then there would be a point where the cost of that would be higher than the Libre.

Your CCG is almost using the same criteria as for a pump, but Freestyle Libre is much less expensive than a pump.

Do you fancy revealing which one it is so I can have a look at what their criteria is?

West Sussex.

Good evening all.
Well it's been a good day ( so far ). Stayed within my range all day. Even managed to prevent workout adrenaline spike with a 2 unit novo shot 20 mins prior to workout.
Stress levels are elevated at the moment. House moving, conveyancing solicitors and T1 are not a good mix at the moment :banghead:.
I hope no one has had a bad D day ( slim chance on that one I guess )

Let's see if my best friend will decide to play ball tomorrow:):):).

@therower to be honest but of a really hairy flying butt monkeys of a day.

Started off 15.9 and all over the place as low as 2.8 and currently 5.6 Etch A Sketch is pointing down, which is fine.

Better luck tomorrow me thinks.

Everyone else ok?
What say tomorrow I adopt your hairy butt monkey and you have a good, boring, flat day.
I'm not greedy and also fully aware that 2 good days in a row is a big ask of any of us.
Tomorrow " we shall seize the day " and eat cake if needs be.:):)

Your on, I shall strive for a flat day and cake will served at 3:00 prompt with tea or coffee which ever you prefer.

All are welcome :D

@Knikki . Coffee. No sugar ( he nearly falls off settee laughing ).
Cake??????
Let's start with bottom of the cake ladder. ( personal opinion you understand )
Battenburg :***::***:

Coffee & cake will still be served at 3:00 I am determined.

However as for a 'flat day' not off to a good start.

Last night 3.3, did nothing, no snacks nothing.
10u lantus (split the lantus because of night hypos)
5:30am I'm at 17.9 going up on Etch A Sketch.
So that's the rest of the Lantus 5u plus 15u Nova Rapid.

Reasons?

Not sure last nights tea had fair amount of carb but was hypo so........
We're on holiday and thus room is very very warm, dehydration playing a part?
Tonight is Italian which I think I will blat all my Lantus in instead of splitting it.

~sigh~ so in answer to Helensarmy yesterday,, 3 hours between inject and breakfast.

9.5 hours before coffee and cake, have to have goals :)

Morning all. Terrible evening for me yesterday, had a big fat migraine complete with total nausea, couldn't keep anything down and was getting very concerned as my bg kept creeping downwards but couldn't get anything into me. Went to bed the second I got back from work and stayed there all night. Seem to be a fair bit better this morning though utterly wiped out. :(

Well, I’ve been having restless and painful legs for years, to the point (almost) of a fibromyalgia diagnosis. However, since changing from Lantus, that’s gone. Took a few months, but I’m reluctant to go back on it - the pain and lack of sleep made life harder than it needed to be. Was a constant ache in my leg muscles, and they just felt like lead. Hard to explain but it’s quite a commonly reported side effect, only recently looked into it as I assumed my insulins wouldn’t/couldn’t hurt me...
Thanks Mel, that's really helpful. I may have to look into this, although the leg muscle pains I have are nothing really compared to yours. I'm really pleased you managed to solve this at least, good luck with getting a pump and ceasing to be a pin cushion!

Morning everyone,

My blood sugar trend has been upwards this morning, for no obvious reason, I had to put some effort into correcting it. Perhaps it's something in the air.
