Good morning y'all

Blood at 15 at 6 am so I had 2u and woke at 8.30 at 8.1 which was handy, pre bolus and a wait for my porridge egg & wholemeal bread whilst enjoying the sun with a fresh ground coffee.
I've got my little un over last night and tonight and we're going out clothes shopping with my eldest 2 this afternoon as they decided my suit is too old :) and I'm told we're going to the shopping centre I dislike the most being on the far side of town with one car filled road and a heaving car park to navigate first.

The joys :p

They'll enjoy it. Do we get to see what suit they chose for you, later?

Morning everyone,
I had a bit of a roller coaster blood sugar night, but it was ok, I got to eat a couple of chocolate hobnobs. Didn't get enough sleep though. I'm trying too hard to control the highs. I can get a bit obsessive like that, sometimes, unfortunately.

Quite a few of us hit the roller coaster last night, must be something in the air!

Thank you for putting up with my ‘life of a T1D’ yesterday, it was looking quite good to start with and then went downhill (uphill?) later on. It was nice not to get posts saying ‘I wouldn’t of done that’ or ‘eaten that’ - semi-expected it as we all know how T1 is so individualist! However I’m completely up for opening the flood gates on your thoughts, suggestions and whippings! If for nothing else a talking point.

Nutritionally wise yesterday was a ‘friday’ and I do usually have a more balanced ‘healthy’ diet - as the sign in our kitchen says ‘does wine count as a serving of fruit’ I did have 1 or 2 then!

Well my day so far :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

It can only get better from here on in :)

Hi @slip I personally think yesterday's "life of a T1D" proved that we are actually real people living real lives albeit for a little faulty organ that erects " diabetic hurdles " for us to jump over, run through or trip up.
These are our hurdles and woe betide anyone who underestimates there height and irregular regularity.
It's so nice to see and feel the honesty on this thread and the omission of advice unless it's asked for.
No one is being judgmental of anyone else. Good days and bad days. We all understand. I think that's good.

Perhaps if there wasn't such a range down the left hand side of the graph it wouldn't appear so up and down:banghead:

Yeah the range is little on the large size, however it only expands like that when you move in extreme's or on a "roller coaster" :D bit like today. When it is in the green bit (which it is fair amount of the time) then the graph looks a little better, but it is swing from 16.9 to 2.9 :wideyed: does make it look bad. Which it was ~shrug~

It is what it was. The graph runs upto just short of 12 noon. It's now 12.20. The graph is history and unchangeable. The most important part of the graph is on the right hand side and what will be and you can influence.
But hey you know this probably better than most of us.:):):)

Hi,
Flicking through the thread.. Looks like I was in good company on the coaster ride.. :)

Out of interest Slip, had you started any new/fresh cartridges of insulin recently.?

SNAP!
(Thur Eve, Fri morn.)
Novorapid & Lantus for me.. The heat also makes me more insulin sensitive too...! I had already skimmed a unit off my lantus dose to compensate for the hot weather...

True but not always influence to how I want. Yep I did stuff some insulin in when it got to 10 (flying butt monkeys) but still did not stop it rising. Till about 12:45 when I dumped more insulin in and now it is going back down (even more flying butt monkeys) however I have just had something to eat and the gym will hit in a couple of hours. So maybe by tea time, things might be more normal.

The heat today is certainly not helping. (even more gigantic flying butt monkeys)

'Still worse things happen at sea' so they say. :)

Optometrist appmt yesterday - all good retinas-wise but the refraction has changed since the eye doctor played laser games on the fibrous tissue at the back of the right intra-ocular lens capsule ( I am one of the 'lucky' 30 % who copped this !!
So I have surrendered my multi-focals for 12 days whilst news lenses are made.
So sunglasses for outside, I can drive without needing prescription glasses, but I am using a cheap pair of 2+ lenses for reading and it is not working well !! So back to the chemist to find a cheap replacement for reading. My bet is on the 2.5 + lenses.
What I am complaining about ?? The sun is shining, I am alive, it is winter but not too cold, my soft toy jaguar is posed on the bedspread without a worry in the world and the goldfish are swimming well. Too much information ?

No not too much information, the image of your soft toy jaguar posed happily on your bed is a good one, does he represent your approach to T1D management, or another part of yourself?

Ha ! @Alison54321, A friend of mine has a real Jaguar car, so I brag that I have a jaguar also ! He has upped the ante by purchasing a Stag (Trimph) so .....
