@Diakat . Less of the boring mod type. Fully appreciate the need for you to set an example to the forum.
You'll always be Daikat first , moderator second.:)

Hello guys Sorry I haven't been about but I has a severe hypo late Monday night 25th June. My daughter found me and I vomited.
But Warning Alert
some vomit went into my lungs and I contracted a critical pnuemonia and went into ICU and now I am on HDU. My family were told to expect the worse. I know absolutely nothing of that day plus I missed my daughters wedding on .the 30th :(

Oh that’s awful for you. Really glad you’re on the way to recovery but that special day lost is really sad. Mod-edit-word to T1!!!!
I missed my sister’s wedding back in 1978 when I was hospitalised, the day before it, with a severe hypo during early pregnancy, and I was gutted.
The next morning they said I was fit to go but the wedding was taking place 30 miles away, in an hour’s time, and I still had vomit-matted hair and no clothes but a nightie. Imagine that vision of loveliness sitting next to you on public transport, or in the church during the service.
I hope your lungs are going to be ok! This T1 thing can be so very threatening, and so few people realise it. Frightening. Thank goodness your daughter found you! Sending you lots of hugs. Very glad you’re still with us!

Just had a really abusive PM from a T1 in response to a comment I’d made on the story about the lass who’d won damages for having her lucozade taken from her at a gig. Bloke had said that he’s never ever had a hypo in 24 years at a concert so she was being ridiculous and I mildly (I always START mildly lol) that just because that’s his experience doesn’t mean it’s true for everyone. Mentioned that I’d once dropped from a steady six to the threes with no IOB at a gig in minutes and the abuse started - apparently I’m an embarrassment to diabetics everywhere, give T1s a bad name, have terrible management, and “are you hypo, hun?” HUN????:mad::mad: Anyone want to see the BG spike from that? :banghead:
</rant>

Oddly, i was giving "love a bad name" (& diabetes.) with a Bon Jovi cover at a gig tonight with no IOB when I felt the big "H."
Phat Coke sorted it. That's Rock & Roll... ;)
PM? Report it. @Diakat & I'll sort it..

Hey, @Robinredbreast . Sorry to read your recent misfortune. (I'm not a massive hug merchiant.) Well wishing winging it's way from my camp. :) Long may you witness a happy daughter! :):)

I was moved to an another ward last night in a side room. The difference in the wards is quite shocking. I can't wait to go home counting the hours now. Astounding care from ICU and HDU and this little Robin was cluctched from predatary claws and lived to fight another day.
Have a good day

Morning all :)

Hypo last night :cat: back up at 9 at the moment so the SPV is trundling along at a fair old rate :)

Wow @Robinredbreast you certainly had a grand old hypo there, glad to see you are on the mend :)

Anyone seen @kev-w ? Waiting for the next instalment of the Porridge Sagas :D

@Robinredbreast That's dreadful what's happened to you, so sorry to read about your woes & wishing you a speedy recovery.

I've got up with a blood of 5.8 and am thinking I should really get my sorry a**e to the gym when I've eaten, but we'll see as I could have another couple of lazy days before switching back on on Monday, @therower @Knikki my scientific porridge work's on hold as I forgot to buy alternative brands :p so it's a bowl of unadulterated Mornflake oats for me :p

Morning my pancreatically challenged friends!

@Robinredbreast - hope you’re feeling better today xxx

My menfolk have all of a sudden decided they want to watch the football this afternoon, absolutely no idea why. None of us like football, this is a rugby household. But teenage Ozzy has decided that he’s embracing the English half of his heritage and wants to support them. Jay and I, being Welsh, support Wales and anyone who’s playing England ;) it’s the law here! Anyone got a low carb, vegetarian Swedish meatball recipe? Anyway, I shall do some patchwork while they’re shouting at the telly. I’ve got a “subscription” quilt to do - I pay a monthly sub and they send me the precut fabric for a block. After a year I’ll have a double quilt for my bed :)

Looks like I was running in the 7s and 8s overnight, some aggressive corrections needed again, pretty much doubling my usual doses. Down to the 6s now but getting extremely bored with this resistance just now. The heat doesn’t help. Ah well.

Lol, oddly. I have a "Sweden rock" festival baseball cap I picked up on tour a few years back?
I've been advised not to wear it today. :p:nailbiting:

Quite sad Portugal and Brazil are out, we were going to nominally root for them. Husband is slightly Portuguese, his ancestor was a Portuguese doctor who came over a couple of hundred years ago and set up a practice in Cornwall. Prior to that he was the personal physician to the King of Portugal when he was exiled in Brazil. He likes to concentrate on that aspect of his ancestry and ignore the British peasantry (except for a Mayor of Plymouth who had previously been a ship’s surgeon during the battle of Trafalgar and a pirate. But that’s another story). Basically he’s homeopathically Portuguese, which makes him more Portuguese than Ronaldo scoffing a crate of pastel de nata if you follow the principles of homeopathy!

Now that's another story... I had 2 quid on Portigal..

My ancestory is Italian. Great grandfather was a musician & conductor gigging in the Pump rooms in Bath..?
He wrote music which I have on sheet notation (manuscript.) paper..
Great gran? Was a local girl... There is this whole "romantic story" regarding thier relationship?
Truth is, they didn't marry. He disappeared & left her with 3 kids.. Classic tale of "Rock & Roll."

Did he ever say he kept it at the levels of a person without diabetes?
My suspicious mind suspects he avoids hypos by keeping his BG at 10 all the time.
Or am I just being bitchy?
That is a hypo avoidance tactic... Not a good hypo avoidance tactic, but a tactic nonetheless!
Better stuff our faces with marshmallows/jelly babies/other noms of your choosing just to be on the safe side.

Ah, “romance”, eh? That old chestnut!

On the subject of heredity, does anyone come from a line of T1s? I have an aunt with T1, but as she’s one of ten, I don’t think it’s statistically significant ;)

On a different note, does anyone find their Libre sometimes aches? Put a new one on Thursday evening, and I think it must have hit a nerve. I’m very conscious that I can feel it, it aches a bit. Hope it subsides, it’s quite uncomfortable.
