Type 1'stars R Us

Good morning everyone. I have an appointment with the nurse to test my bp, she was off sick on my last two visits, which is frustrating, but hopefully she will be there :nurse: Awoke on a 7.1, which is good. Son is popping round, then my friend is this afternoon. Not feeling so low in mood today,
Have an awesome day ( even though it is Monday:rolleyes:)
hope all is well with your bp and have a lovely time with your friend :)

Hi Guys,
Back after hols. I had to ease myself back into the forum and this thread was the last because there was so much to catch up on:
- @Robinredbreast gets a new job
- @porl69 and @Cumberland share hairstyle fashion tips (from the 70s)
- @smc4761 downing her pink "mother's ruin"
- @Mel dCP becoming a SuperBorg
- @Chris Bowsher treating himself to the work pizza
- @porl69 planning pump-related Christmas present requests
- and a whole raft of rock related memories. Is there a reason why people with type 1 are into rock?

As for me, I had a wonderful holiday with amazing food, scenery, wine and a four-storey high mechanical elephant whilst walking more than 100 miles and enjoying the delights of French rail travel (comfortable, cheap and on-time).
Unfortunately, I was having so much fun, I went into auto-drive on the diabetes front forgetting to split my pizza dose and thinking the risotto would be more ricey than it was. After that, I was a little more conservative on the dosing with a plan to correct more often. This was a little challenging as the sun was too bright to read the display on my pump (even in the shade) and I didn't spend much time indoors.

Pleased that you had a nice time away

It’s s bit of a shock to come back I find

A mid morning 3.6 for me, I'd popped to mums to finish loading the skip and I just cracked on and ignored the warnings :) anyway....
I've got a little problem :p in that at some distant point in the past someone's stashed a full size acetylene cylinder in mums garage, obviously it's been left for me but it's a recent discovery, I don't class myself as a worrier but I was twitching a bit as non of the scrap guys I know want it to the point where they pulled faces at offered bribes, I don't really want to pay £40 to take to the council tip as reading legislation I see awkward questions ahead :p so I asked Google, who directed me to a BOC field officer who'll come and take it away for free, and I managed that whilst a little hypo as I was marooned at mums till I came up past 5. Waddles off with a smug grin of accomplishment having spelt her address in alpha bravo charlie stylee,

I just did not want to drive the thing laid horizontally in the car at any time not knowing if it was full and I've only got bagging for oxy propane and you never crack a strange valve into air as you don't know it'll close again.

8.5 now, time to get to work.....

Shall we substitute hippo for hypo?

"I had a hippo at 5.30 this morning it was 1.9!"

Tony runs for cover

Just realized I haven't posted (as yet :)) been liking posts on here and work is mighty busy AGAIN

For such a large heavy beast they can swim rather well
AND quite a quick runner as well :)

Just had lunch and going to make chicken Risotto tonight. BP was back within the normal range, 101/66 so happy with that. Son came round about 11 am and my friend is popping around later for a cuppa and a chat.
The weather is glorious outside, so bright and sunny  lovely :)

I’m not surprised you didn’t want to drive with it in the car! Older daughter had a real scare in her diving instructor days when her car caught fire and she had an oxygen cylinder in it (used for decompression if someone gets the bends). Luckily she got it out of the car in time but had it stayed there the conflagration would have been immense.
Car was destroyed anyway - secondhand one and she’d clearly been sold rubbish, was from a colleague of him indoors, aka hubby, aka her father. The rat had already fled back home to Oz.

Lol, I thought the buildings at the back of your avatar looked Eastern European!

Krakow is my favourite holiday destination, I could quite happily live there.

Did you give goloncka ham hock a go? I'm not a low carber but I'll always find room for a few of those when I'm over there.

Nearly right @Scott-C The buildings behind the bears are in Riga from a trip earlier this year but they do the same ham hock there too which I scoffed. The Polish trip was likewise full of food and I honestly did try to be good, failed mainly but it was a blast
