@therower if you don't get on with it, it looks like it doesn't do ketones and it only store 500 results so you could argue it potentially doesn't hold 3 months worth as required by the dvla...........?

woke at 5am feeling high, needing a pee and sure enough I was 13.something (so no hippo for me!), 5u correction and back to bed, 7am 5.2. I blame the jaffa cakes.

good morning all. Had a hippo last night after tea (never did I think I would ever be saying that :)). Couple of jelly babies and a bite size mars bar. Went to bed on a steady 6.4 and woke to a 10.4. Maybe the bite size mars bar was a little too much (last night it was!!). Now on a steady 10.4! Correction dose coming up....watch this space lol
Good news, 2 weeks today will be in Turkey WOOHOO :)

Morning,

Blood sugar is fairly predictable at the moment, within the fairly wide parameters of predictability set for T1D. It's not doing anything very weird at the moment, so I'll take advantage of that for the short time it lasts.

Last time I got a new blood glucose monitor I was given an Abbotts Freestyle Optium. Which was fine. It's a bit concerning that it is now seen as acceptable to give people with T1D the cheapest blood glucose monitors, regardless of performance. I can understand an argument for the lowest cost high performing monitor, but beyond that cost savings become worryingly inappropriate.

I saw someone on twitter saying that there were people being told they could only do four tests a day in some places, I don't know how widespread that is, but it's very much the wrong direction.

Morning all, will Your gp practice still find strips for an alternative meter @therower? Like @Knikki I love the all in one Accuchek Mobile.
Bed at 5.0 waking 3.7 but Mobile says 5, new sensor seems to be having a small dance with the fairies at the bottom of the garden.
Anyone else seen the BBC news item about the trial in Wales, for beta cell regrowth? It’s in Cardiff, Vale University Health Board.

I love the Autumn, cooler nights, warm sunny day's, getting darker earlier, cuddling up on the sofa with..................Pebbles cat :cat: :p But............. not every leaf from the tree's falling onto my front and back garden :bigtears:
Ah ! The trails and tribulations of Autumn. "All the leaves are gone ....." but enjoy the indoors !!

I have a museum full of tacky cheap meters but not heard of that one.

The one i like the Accu Check Mobile really nice all in one meter, no strips and is the size of a small phone.

Morning all,

Woke to a 6 something not bad deciede to experimant more with split dose for breakfast, just so I don't drop to lower than 4 before going to work.

Didn't work

Sat in traffice with the alarms going off ~sigh~ so sat there sticking more insulin in and now sat here at work with a 10.6 and shed load of IoB ~sigh~ Coffee me thinks.
Things are always better after coffee ( and maybe cake when possible). Life is one big experiment. We just need to work out whether we are a guinea pig, mouse, human or bug.

Maybe we share a bit of DNA with all of them @kitedoc, and a smattering of worm, fruit fly, Neanderthal, chimp and ***** cat too?
