Tally-Ho Tony :hilarious: At least you can do a test to see if its high BG or the bacon thirst goblins!

Ugh. Having a day. Fuel pump fuse in the car gone again, no vegan Quorn to be had, got to give a large refund to an eBay customer who “changed their mind” after three weeks (that was the spending money for this trip to Liverpool) and my hard boiled eggs weren’t cooked and now I’m covered in yolk.

Ah well, only 180 miles to home...

I'm in the yo-yo club too. Unexplained sky high yesterday, hopefully back to normal today but boy, it does get tedious sometimes, couldn't agree more with that sentiment!

Three weeks! Who are they kidding!

Aye meters don't like the cold, winter window cleaning used to see mine with the temp warning icon showing and sometimes not working, and that was when I could get blood out of a finger :), for me this winter's going to be interesting seeing how the Libre copes....

The reader part of libre is fine, though I keep mine in a pocket anyway. There's no really temperature-sensitive bits (though the battery might complain if it gets really cold)

The sensor does complain about cold - the skin needs to be warm for it to work. If I'm slow about putting a jumper on on a cold day, it doesn't work. However while out skiing in Norway this Februay at about -20, it was fine - I had enough clothes on. Though my drinks were icing up quite badly :-)

It's one of the great things about libre - finger pricking when cold suffers from cold fingers (no blood) and cold sensors (no reading), but the libre lives somewhere you're more likely to keep warm.

Hi @helensaramay . Moan moan and moan some more.
Moved house 12 weeks ago , registered with new GP surgery and it’s been absolute nightmare ever since.
I won’t bore you with the rubbish I’ve had to put up with and the obstacles I’ve still to negotiate.
You have my fullest sympathy as does anyone else who has to deal with uneducated, ignorant and totally useless GP staff.

I always rated my old GP surgery about 8/10. I was wrong they were 11/10. I just didn’t realise.

It ain’t half difficult using this **** iPad when you’ve just been for yearly retinopathy eye screening.
I can just about focus with iPad at arms length.
On the plus side the wife is looking extra gorgeous and just a little bit blurry around the edges:):):)

Been out visiting lots of shops to get different items this afternoon, not much fun, they all have Christmas stuff and lots of Christmas choc and bics- and we’ve not even burned the good guy yet.
Going back a thread or two I remember travelling to work with my Mobile Accuchek stuffed in my underwear to keep it warm, those were the days.
And @therower, of course she’s gorgeous! Even without the drops.

Evening colanders. Not long got home after a lovely four hour, 180 mile drive through sunny mid Wales, blood behaved perfectly and hovered between five and six the whole way. I love driving, and a Ford Focus on twisty roads is a joy. No idea what to eat this evening, as the husband doesn’t appear to have got any food in that I can eat - there’s the remains of an Indian takeaway and a bag of slime that used to be salad. Maybe a Quorn bacon, Roquefort and mushroom frittata if we have any eggs...

@helensaramay - grrrrrr. You must be livid! I’ve got to collect my bin bag of stuff from the pharmacy in the morning, so fingers crossed...

@therower - husband and me always reckon than failing close up vision is quite a blessing as we’re getting older. When you wake up and see the person next to you, it’s not too horrifying (until you put your specs on) as you’re in lovely soft focus...

It's obviously my week for new experiences. Picked up yesterday's prescription with a note to "talk to the pharmacist about medication". Refused to do it last night as I was in a hurry to get home, but wandered back that way again today and said I'd do it if the pharmacist was free (because on reflection, it occurred to me I'd get nagged until I do).

That was a waste of 20 minutes I won't get back again. We are in agreement that I know what my condition is, what my meds are for, what I need to do about foot checks, eye checks, diet and exercise, and a note has now gone on their system that I won't do that again.

Possibly I over-did things by insisting she inspected the contents of the Meds Bag, the Spare Supplies section of the Back Pack and the hypo snacks box... Or was it that I described how I adjust for known exercise using the words Basal and Bolus? It was my revenge for her poor use of the word "naughty" in relation to her view of me "over-testing". My considered response to that was "I would prefer to describe it as being in control of my condition rather than "naughty"."
