Always the best
What a pants start to the day. Plenty of water is a good start. Maybe a 20 min walk around the block if at all possible. It’s always been something that drops my sugars like a brick without a parachute especially 1 st thing of a morning before any breakfast.Argh- 18.4 on waking! Feel awful. Not particularly feeling unwell. 0.9 on the ketones - not sure what its meant to be? Will test again in two hours.
I know I was worked up yesterday but went to bed much more relaxed as I had done lots of prep.
I did have a low in the evening which I treated. Maybe over-treated?
No idea why the alarms on my MM didn’t go off!
Hmm off to guzzle some water to see if I can bring this down.

Good luck and hope you get back in range soon.
Hopefully you can get that sorted out soon, not nice, but not the end of the world.
I'm the last person to give anyone any advice on handling stress, I am extremely bad at it, but are you creating a feedback loop? Where not only do you get stressed, but you get stressed about getting stressed, an then getting stressed about getting stressed, about getting stressed.
If you recognise that it might be worth trying to step outside the loop, and just not get stressed about getting stressed.
Yes I do... I was feeling fine this morning until I saw that high reading. I find highs SO much more frustrating than lows as they linger for longer.
I have planned a few breaks/enjoyable activities to do in-between work prep- which should help and take my mind off it.
16.7 now and dropping.
Because they do not like fast food !!!Ok @kitedoc, I’ll play stooge: why do the French eat snails?
Morning fellow sieves.
I got up early today. At least early for a Sunday. I have baked two small sourdough loaves and waiting for the oven to get back to temperature for the next two. They will all be frozen. I usually have a bread stash in the freezer but I took the last loaf out yesterday. So might do some rolls or pittas later.
Morning y'all and Mels cat to the 20.1 I woke at 6 with
At this moment in time I see a return to Lantus on the horizon as although my HBa1C is showing at 47 I'm 'bouncing' too much for my liking, I was 6.4 at bed time and only had a 90g carbs tea and no supper.
My lunchtime swim's looking very precarious right now...

The conversation about stress at work has got me thinking. Regardless of any medical conditions, we all cope with stress differently. Some of us excell under stress but i think we all reach a level where stress becomes a problem and we don’t perform as well.
Managing diabetes under stress adds another level of ... umm.. stress. But does that mean those of us with diabetes should be able to quote DDA and avoid stressful situations?
I don’t think so. There are few jobs where it is even possible. I believe our employers should give all of us the tools to minimise stress but a teacher with diabetes can’t avoid having a kid playing up in class, for example as much as Theresa May can’t ask Barnier to be gentle in Brexit negotiations because she has diabetes.
There are things in my job which stress me out but I have never felt the need to ask my employer not to make me present at a conference or to be able to pass a complaining customer to a colleague or to avoid tight deadlines because of my diabetes. They are things I have to do in my job.
