I went to Skegness as a small child on holiday with my family. Spent an entire week spraying the place with vomit :hungover:

Ok, I've spent twenty mins deeply researching the Skegness question, and it turns out there's some good ice cream parlours, a few strip-bars, and the surfing opportunities are under-rated, probably because of the shark which bit Jaylee. I've put it in my diary for my next holiday!

I've got absolutly no idea what a "strip bar" would do to my BG levels.

..... If i was performing. ;)

@Scott-C . Your credibility is still intact. Stick with Google as a source of information.
In my neck of the woods Skegness is a source of amusement for many and a source of regular “ July fortnights “ for others.

Always worth a visit, if only to put being diabetic in perspective.:):):)

Lol, one of the things which popped up on t'internet was it being called "Skegvegas".

@Jaylee . Born and bred Leicester lad here. Need I say anymore????????????????

We got Weston-super-mare near these ere parts... What goes on in the mare, stays there...
Like skeggy, Minehead further south is the location for a certain holiday camp chain too.. :)

So, skirting the Skeg question - I tried to introduce my daughter to the glory of ZZ Top today. She said it was the worst thing she has ever heard.

@Diakat . Kids???????? Who’d have um.
My daughter swears she can’t abide AC/DC. Strange how she knows the words to so many of their tracks when they get played.:):):).
Now if she had said the same about KISS I could maybe of understood. That’s one group I’ve never figured out.

@Jaylee . We did Wedmore this year with the grandkids.
Fortunately we visited Burnham first, this was of great benefit to Weston .
Weston and Burnham.........Skeggy and Mablethorpe. :banghead::banghead::banghead:

She obviously has an ear infection or something which must be making her deaf temporarily, A wonderful band along with AC/DC mentioned as well.

I am be getting on a bit but still an old rocker

I actually remember you mentioning being in Wedmore a while back.. I think it was about the time I was doing a gig in the Nyland area, (Probably closer to Draycott.) just outside Cheddar? :)

@kitedoc oh man that sounds like a complete mare, any idea what caused it? Anyway looks like you sorted it which is a winner.

Morning all.

BSL rather dull, which is good thing, and sat here watching the news but thinking of going to look for some cartoons instead which is far more fun.
Hi @Knikki, I am still on 120% of my usual basal and bolus doses. I figure it is a virus bug of some sort just no definitive symptoms. But one of those occasions where the use of small doses of intramuscular short-acting insulin helped get things sorted.

Morning colanders!

Spike is showing a bland night, I’ve been in range since 1900 on Wednesday, which makes 61.5h so far. Wondering if I can beat my record of 78 hours? Probably not, gig tonight.

@kitedoc - what a nightmare! Dealt with like a pro, however, hope you’re feeling better today xxx
Thank you @Mel dCP. As I wrote to @Knikki, am still on 120% of usual basal and bolus but no symptoms of anything.
One of those occasions where small doses of intramuscular Novorapid helped.

Morning :)

Another evening basal reduction but yet another night time low -

At least I didn’t over-treat this one and woke up at 6.1

@kitedoc- *hugs*
Thank you @CranberryIce. Still at 120% of usual basal and bolus but 'hanging in there' as we Aussie say. The use of intramuscular Novorapid helped get here !!

@kitedoc . Sincerely hope that everything settles down for you sooner rather than later.
Take care down there.:) Us pommies need you guys to keep an eye on the diabetes front during the night.;)
Thank you @therower. Still running at 120% of usual daily insulin with no clue as to why. The intramuscular Novorapid was a sort of last ditch effort before heading to hospital. Fortunately it worked and I do not need to replace my batch of insulin. I know tasting the insulin was not very scientific but at least I knew i was not injecting plain water!!! Happy to keep the nighttime vigil on the southern front!!
