Good morning y'all, and happy Sunday, woke with a 13.2, starting to get negative vibes with Tresiba if I'm honest and as I've my Libre script to collect from the hospital this week will be having a chat at the clinic whilst I'm there, probably the old dog struggling with new tricks but....

My youngest's 12 today but I seem to be having my day bumped at short notice so the court order will be coming out of the box later to be waved at the other parent :p
On a brighter note I should get for a swim later, I've missed a few lately whilst adjusting to the Tresiba and the times I feel 'safe' aren't quite falling when the pool's open and I've time....

Morning all, gig last night and another tonight, not sure I can handle being so rock and roll... just a gentle acoustic one tonight though. Killed the unicorn with a mild excursion into the 7s last night, only gave half the suggested correction and was awoken by my alarm at 4am because I’d hit 3.8 - a couple of dextrose tabs and a 0% temp basal for an hour sorted that.

Quiet day doing some house painting today, hope you all have a good one ❤️

Good morning teabags. I’m liking Fiasp, much easier to keep in the blue, so far . . .
All this talk of a swim @kev-w, is getting me green though. I reckon it’ll be a while before my wretched knee makes it possible again. I rang the surgery on Friday to make sure the referral had been sent and was sent down the into the pit of ignorance: just two part time secretaries who have a ten day backlog and had already gone home for the weekend! Seriously contemplating stinking complaint and change of surgery.
Managed a small walk yesterday before pain cut it short so an improvement.
Glad you’ve tamed the beast for now @kitedoc. Glad no parents in Weston anymore @Jaylee but love the Mendips and Sedgemoor. Not been to Skeggy @therower but love Charnwood Forest. I was up in that area when my knee had the latest one of its ‘events’ and had to miss out on walking the dog through the rocky woods ☹️

Good morning friends
Lazy day ahead
@Cumberland ....and a good morning to you too.....home alone for a couple of days....sun is shining here so making the most of it and clearing up some garden rubbish....taking advantage of neighbours offer to put things in their skip that they have for the weekend....
....hope you have a good day and weather is good where you are...:)

Morning fellow colanders, hope you are all well this beautiful Sunday.

Think I need to give my DSN a call as my BG are getting ridiculous now and have been for past 2 weeks or so. Overnight BG are rising, dawn phenomenon? and from when I get up until around lunchtime BG are very silly no matter how much insulin I take. I always pre bolus usually 20/30 mins before brekkie

I have now gone to a ratio of 1:3 from 1:4 and its making no difference. This morning had 2 small slices of toast 28 g of carbs, so took 9 units of Novoslow, plus a correction dose, which is a 1:1 ratio and 2 hours later my BG has risen from 10.1 to 13.7

From lunchtime until bedtime however it is usually not that bad and going into early hours it is fairly stable. I have upped my Levemir overnight by 15% from 22 units to 25 units but no difference.

Potentially i could be getting a pump at some point in new year all being well, so do I just leave as is or try something different, a different insulin maybe. Been on Levemir and Novoslow for about a year now

@Fairygodmother . You should have given me a shout. A piggy back around thr often overlooked Charnwood area of Leicestershire could have been on the cards:)
Hope the knee improves soon. **** worst joint in the body along with the shoulder.

Aw thanks @therower, next time I will, tho I can’t guarantee that carrying me up and down those glorious woods’d leave your knees undamaged. Can you imagine it, two T1s with knackered knees playing babes in the wood and hoping the wicked witch had a house made of jelly babies.

LOL . It would be a strange sight I guess. Swithland Woods is definitely the place to play T1’s lost in the woods games:):)

Thank you @Fairygodmother. Magically all back to normal today. I still have no clue as to the cause, just glad to be back in the land of near-normal BSLs!!

Feeling really fed up and confused today, I don't think I will ever understand what\why my diabetes does what it does.

I get random drops that I cannot work out...

Last night I ate at around 7pm at around midnight I go to bed BG @ 9.9

So at this point there's just basal working away. This is keeps me steady throughout the night, I wake up to inject morning basal at 7am BG @ 10.1

I go back to sleep for a couple of hours and get up. Relaxed morning (no breakfast as I never eat breakfast) no exercise just watching YouTube.

At 10am by BG @ 8.5 so slight drop, by 11.30 it drops to 5.4

A nice BG but I can't understand what would have caused my BG to drop like that?
The basal I use is Lantus so shouldn't have any peaks. My BG was consistent throughout the night, so I don't think it's too much basal. I didn't excercise at all. I've been T1D for 17 years so I can't see me still being in honeymoon lol.

I am deliberately running higher BG's after having daily hypos and loss of awareness, my DSN has asked me to reduce all insulin by quite a bit and not do corrections to help give some consistency in my BG.

I don’t think I know that one, we usually go to the Outwoods, Beacon Hill and Bradgate Park. Must go and explore next time I’m in the area. I also mean to go back to Stonywell.

When do you put the Lantus in? When I was taking it I found it had a surge about 7 or 8 hours after injecting. A right PIA! Levemir, I’ve found, releases in a much more even way.

Well if you go Braggie Park then Swithland woods is next door so to speak.
If you know where the Hallgates car park is at Bradgate ( it’s the one next to the reservoir at Cropston ) then you’re almost at Swithland woods. If you go by Hallgates on your left Swithland woods is 500 yds on the right.
Take care though. It’s very easy to lose your bearings once inside the woods. Have quite often had to direct people beck to the car park.

14u @ 10pm
16u @ 7am

You may also have had a surge from the overlapping of Lantus doses as it lasts for more than the 9 hours between your evening and morning injections.
