Lots of snow here and it's been snowing continually for about 3 hours !! Limited bus services, gridlock at some car parks and some shops are closing up earlier. Yellow warning from the Met office.

Hope you’ve got food in the cupboards and insulin in the fridge. Q. Is this a practise run?

It's sliding off the roofs of parked cars as well as houses.
Whilst it could be a great invention to avoid the need for scraping ice off on winter mornings, I don't think any cars have CH.
I suspect there would be an outcry for pumping out fumes whilst parked.
But maybe that's something they could introduce for electric cars. I could see it working when they are charging.
Hmmm - do you think I should patent the idea?

The latest local weather report here is about 4" snow lying and more falling.
Google says it is currently zero degrees outside and my central heating agrees. My office thermometer said 16.0 degrees. Then the heating realised and came on to warm it up to a wapping 17.6.

helensaramay - Volvo do this too: https://www.volvocars.com/uk/support/article/7edf3dcb58174acbc0a801515ec8ffb1 It works well.

I was pondering this as I pootled around the supermarket this evening whilst waiting for the prescription to be made up and wondering if I should be topping up store cupboard supplies. I do keep well-stocked store cupboards and freezers as a matter of course, so I'm not really going in for stockpiling unnecessarily.

A minor miracle, for the first time in ages I won't have to do a return visit for whatever wasn't in stock in the pharmacy Admittedly, it was only test strips and needles this time. Ketone strips are my usual have to return for items, with occasional insulin though that's for next time.

No snow here, other than a few half-hearted flakes. My students are most disgruntled at the lack of a snow day.

Morning, up early this morning as I had a restless night. Snow still here, was going to go into the town today, but the shopping centre closed earlier last night because of the bad weather, (Met office yellow warning alert) and employees trying to get home. It took my SIL 3 hours last night to do a usual 30 minutes journey. So I will try and phone them at 9 am to find out what's going on.
Pebbles cat did go out last night, but soon came in, no paw prints int he snow, so she thought better of it, came in and eventually used the litter tray :):cat:
Take extra care outside and be safe.

Good arvo from Oz. None of that white stuff here. Sun shining strongly -
Swooping magpies and snakes more of a danger here and the Met does not warn us about them !!
That is, except at home: Mrs Kitedoc has plunged into the Low carb recipes with a vengeance. The kitchen is a war zone.
Peace = better BSLs. Retreat is the best option !! Helmet and eye protection on, earplugs in !!
Yes, luv, I am off down the hall to the garage workshop.

Good morning everyone have a great dsy .not up to much today bit of shopping when tommy decides to get up then a lazy day in front of tv no grandsons till tomorrow. Wrap up well when and if you need to go out

Morning weekend jabbers and pumpers.
Light dusting here, a bit like the stuff on top of a Victoria sponge cake ( he says not really knowing if VSC has that sugary stuff on top ).
Off to Nuneaton for a spot of brekkie.
Stay safe everyone and if you do get a chance enjoy the snow.

Morning all pincushions and cyborgs, cold but green here, ice on the pond but no snow. Cat stayed in but his neighbour came to see if there was food in Cat’s bowl so much yowling at sparrows fart. Cat was being food-fussy so I hope the neighbour made the most of the leftovers!
Real sparrows are clustered round the bird feeder.
My knee’s been behaving well over the last few days so we’re planning a walk in the woods where there may be snowdrops. I’ve had withdrawal symptoms without decent walks and the sights, scents and peace of the woods. Wish us luck (I’ll be taking a stick, just in case, not to ward off bears and wolves, just for the knacketyknee).

Ha ha, I will. The subtext of that song’s always been ‘interesting’. I suspect that like the nursery rhymes there’s a social or political significance in there somewhere - one of the royal Edwards? I’m probably over-reading it
