Type 1'stars R Us

Taken a couple of steps towards it - emailed the designer to ask for written consent to use his design in a tattoo because I wouldn't want to do anything underhand, and if he agrees I'll print out his response to take with me to the studio.

Also - got green hippie pig down from my shelf and am going to put my savings in there. I spend money that's in the bank but it never occurs to me to use cash anywhere, so I'm safer saving notes in my pig. Oddly he's never had a name but because he's on the coffee table (instead of the shelf behind me) I'll end up talking to him so he'll have a name soon.

Well that was a huge, but scrummy breakfast. Three vegan sausages, 4 rashers of seitan bacon, half a tin of cherry tomatoes all sprinkled with a very generous tablespoonful of parmegan. I am stuffed! Lunch will be a buddha bowl of assorted raw veggies & salad with olive oil, sunflower seeds and parmegan splattered on top.

But this morning - finish the coffee then go and make the banana chocolate chip squares

Just been talking to Pilot (my son) he lives and works in China and he going on a weeks break to
Mongolia
I wouldn’t fancy that but hey ho the young have no fear

@Cumberland Got to admit Mongolia probably wouldn't be my first choice of holiday destination but I hope he has a brilliant time!

I'm on hold until the dishwasher finishes because it's got my mixing bowl and other toys inside, and I need 'em for the cookies.... apparently it'll be done in about half an hour. We try to only run it once a day to save on costs and water etc. It is one of those eco ones - only uses the same amount of water as an actual washing up bowl apparently.
 
Has anyone else had a long term ganglion cyst? I mean going on year in year out and just changing size at inexplicable intervals? I have one on the top/side of my foot. If I wore shoes it might be annoying but the Berks miss it.

Now, when we were young (I mean early 20's) my mate Helen had one of these on her wrist. She used to thump it with the huge family bible and it would go away for ages. I wanna do that to my foot (not with my husband's huge family bible - he'd go apes**t at me). I could use some large tome hanging around the house. Or else find a substitute kickpad and round-kick it like crazy and hope I can still pack enough force to do something to the cyst. (I was a karate dan grade until I stopped, in my late 40's).

Anyone know a reason I shouldn't?

@Cumberland - yes, so far it's been fine. Now I'm munching lunch on a tray on my lap because it's soon the mens' final of the tennis in Paris. Looking forward to that!
 
Afternoon chaps. Just catching up on the thread while I’ve been fitfully sleeping... running a bit high, might need to tweak some settings. Going to do some work on writing my Loop app, thanks for the tag Leeanne, I’ll look into it±

My family often say' mum, why don't you geta tattoo', just a small one ? I say because I don't want one and I don't need one, I personally don't like them, but if other's want to get tatts, that's fine. But I see no enjoyment in getting one done or having it tattooed on me for life ! Nope !
ps Tatts can be removed (well it's actually a few doses of lasering to fade them) with lasering, my son has had this done on his face, it was extremely painful and his face and eye was very swollen too :inpain::inpain:
 
I am off out to dinner soon, daughter is still at her boyfriends and Pebbles cat is fast asleep.............so, all's well with the world :)

I've got several - none of them really hurt and I waited ages before getting each of them to be absolutely sure I wanted that image forever. I'm still glad I've got them :)

This would be the final one, and I've heard back from the guy who has copyright on the image. He's fine with it being used and supplied a pic with the wording I want for the tattoo studio to use. So kind! It'll be a while - it's not cheap, and I'll need to save up. I decided that however much it costs I'll donate the equal amount to PETA in addition to my normal payment to them. Seems fair.

Argh!!! I've had that pig for over 30 years! He's beautiful to me. I will just take the bung out of his tummy once I've put a bunch more money in it. I have worked out that I will need a few hundred to pay for the tattoo and PETA. That's a definite few months of saving :)

WuTwo, I've had a number of ganglions n my time, but the most spectacular on my wrist. When it started to impact the feeling in my thumb, it had to go!

I would never strike a hand or foot with anything hard, in an effort to try to burst a ganglion. Unfortunately, both those parts have small bones and very complex structures it can be amazingly east to damage.

If your ganglion is problematic, they can be surgically removed. If your Doc isn't keen to remove, and it's either sizeable or very tense and hard (full), they can draw off the fluid.

Even when excised they can come back, and mine has come back a couple og times, after sugical removal, but these days they tend to "explode" when they grow a bit. Ganglions are generally speaking harmless, unless they're in a troublesome place.

I'm assuming you've had this thing diagnosedd by a Doc?
 
Very quiet day here, finally got BG down to 5 so quite happy. Currently building my Loop app, it’s taking FOREVER as it’s the first build, got the little whirly circle thing whirling, so I assume it’s doing the thing. The list of tasks in the task window is moving... slowly.

So I’m the meantime I’m cutting hexagons from some lovely fabric I bought in the V&A for my peacock patchwork quilt and listening to Old Crow Medicine Show :)

Yes the doc diagnosed and is happy that it's not a danger. It's not really a problem at the moment but if it's a hard winter and I end up in the Docs I might find it less than comfy. Maybe I could pop along and ask about getting something done. The poor guys are so busy though that I hate to bother them for something that isn't actually important.

if it's fairly superficial, and in a "good" place, your GP (if they do minor ops) might be able to do it for you. Mine was done by a plastic surgeon because of where it was and my work at the time.

I'm a bit confused by your hard winter comment. Does it limit your choice of shoes or boots.

Totally. I own birkenstocks or DM's. That's it, literally, for footwear. If the weather is cold I have to go into the DM's. If its bearable/nice/wet, I wear the birks.

ETA - That sounds terrible; I actually have two pairs of each!
