type 2 and trigeminal neuralgia

I have to admit, the thought of being in such pain in my future terrifies me.........
Please don't let it terrify you lucylocket61. I agree 100% with what Mel has said in her reply to you. Yours has been diagnosed early and there are now excellent treatments out there to help. Bill

Back again. I have developed liver problems, so have had to come off the carbamazine. My doctor seems to have washed her hands of me. Any suggestions of any tests, or other meds I can ask for?

Doc says no to MRI or CT scan too, as not necessary in her opinion.

Lucylocket, that's a blow.

I certainly wouldn't want to comment on treatment options, bearing in mind your liver would need to be considered in any treatment plan.

There is a Trigeminal Neuralgia Association , here: https://www.tna.org.uk/ They have a forum, but access to the forum appears to be limited to TNA members, at £20 per annum. I have no idea how welcoming or helpful they might be, but in your shoes, I might have a look, at least to the site and information posted there.
