Type 2 diabetes and IVF

Hi all,

I have Type 2 Diabetes - well controlled (Diet, 1000mg Metformin daily, last HbA1C was 5.4). I am about to start IVF and a drug called Suprecur. I've read loads about the risk of this medication with diabetes - clinic happy as HbA1C undercontrol and Diabetes Nurse is coming back to me. However, I was wondering if anyone on here has used this medication and has T2 Diabetes?

I've also posted this is in T2 forum section - wasn't sure where it belongs.

Hi Mags

Sorry you have had no reply to date. The only information I can find is that Suprecur and enhance the effect of some diabetic medications. I suspect that you will not have problems with metformin as it is not a drug that usually causes hypos, but the generic advice appears to be to test your blood sugars regularly. Hopefully your DN will have put your mind at rest already.
