Type 2 Diabetes now on medication

There is a lot of misinformation at the doctor's. With my first ever reading of 7.2mmol, a1c of 6.5% my doctor went on to suggest I go on insulin as he said they were seeing good outcomes for newly diagnosed with a 6 month insulin treatment! I stumbled upon LCHF (Low Carb, High Fat), Intermittent fasting and haven't looked back, my sugars are normal, I have lost weight so it can all be reversed. I am new to this community, however everyone seems supportive and helpful, you will find guidance to help you in discovering more about type 2 and hopefully reversing it, because that is a real possibility!

Thanks for that , i was put on Metformin and it hasnt agreed with me , theres a possibilty of interaction wiht other medications i am taking as in antibiotics for an infection , i have to wait till its cleared up and re start Metformin in 2 weeks time . ive found few recipes that i can use , i cant eat certain food due to being on anticoagulants plus im a fussy eater so may family tell me

Hi i was diagnosed in January 2017 with type 2 Diabetes , for first 3 months diet alone , and go on a education course for Diabetes , after results today of 6.9 they have now put me on Metformin 500 mg 1 tablet a day for a week , then 2 tablets a day , i have had constant infections one after another , again Diabetic Nurse says i dont need to test my Blood Sugar , how am i going to know how to control it without testing it ? has anyone else had same treatment as me been told not to test blood ? forgot to add due to anticoagulants i have to be careful what food i eat , i am also helping a research project called StartRight who are wanting 400 people that have been diagnosed in the last year and under 50 , i bought a monitor kit few months back when i was first diagnosed .

Unless you are on glicazide or insulin you will not get a meter from the doctor.
