I am T2 but I inject four times a day would I qualify for an insulin pump
Not in the UK unless you use gallons of insulin per day.
Unfortunately type2's are treated as second class citizens in the UK (even lower down than type1's)

There is a Type 2 here with a pump but he may self-fund it - I'm not sure.

Even for Type 1s, there are criteria Younhave to fulfil. That is, having the four injections isn't a qualifying thing. There must be other factors.

What difficulties are you having that make you think about a pump?

I can't keep my levels under 10 this afternoon 16.9

Ok. Can you tell us a little more about what insulin you take and if you've done a basal check at all?

Has your team given you advice and help?

Are your sugars always high or just at certain times?

Do you take Metformin too?

Do you count carbs?

Lots of questions there, but the more information you can give the more useful suggestions you'll get :)

You have to meet a certain criteria so it's best that you discuss things with your diabetes team.

However there is a member on the forum with type 2 diabetes who qualified for a pump and is presently using one, his name is @phil169 and hopefully by tagging him he'll reply to your thread.

A pump isn't going to magically reduce your levels, you still have to use the same basic skills to manage blood sugar that you should be using on mdi. These include:-
  1. Ensuring your basal dose is right for you to keep levels flat without bolus or carbs;
  2. Carb counting and adjusting your dose to match carbs, ensuring your insulin to carb ratio works for you.
So do you carb count? Are you confident adjusting your insulin dose? You would need to be to be considered for an insulin pump.
