I had a little breakthrough today - I hit 4.8 this morning, which is the lowest reading I have had so far - along with 2 x 4.9's a week or two apart. I feel like I am making good progress with this way of eating, and I am still feeling good on one meal a day so far. I have experiences a little tiredness over the last few days, which is probably due more to pushing the exercise a little more, and still not really getting enough sleep every night. I am continuing with the meditation class every Thursday evening, and this is proving very useful in reducing my stress levels. I feel less stressed now than I have felt in a long time. Partly this may also be because I am feeling more in control of my life and not worrying about anything. My weight has been stable for 3 days, but I tend to have a mini plateau every few days, probably due to building muscle, and this will resolve probably tomorrow or Thursday. I am slowly losing my bingo wings and there is a fair bit of muscle lurking under the podge these days. I couldn't resist boiled eggs and bacon for my meal today due to reading about @bulkbiker 's egg fast yesterday! Day 16 - Weight: 113.4 kilos / BMI 36.9 / Waist to Height Ratio: 66% 6.30am - FBG: 5.7 7.31am - DP: 6.0 11.59pm - Under 5.2: 4.8 12.41pm - Pre-meal: 5.6 3.06pm - Post-meal (2hrs): 5.7 3.38pm - Post-meal (3 hrs): 6.1 12.41am - Bedtime: 6.6 Meal: Boiled eggs and bacon with cucumber, yellow pepper, olives, avocado, soft cheese and double gloucester cheese. Pecans, walnuts and hazelnuts. Coffee with coconut cream, all other fluids water. I am adding a couple of twists of himalayan pink salt to meals to increase my salt intake. Carbs: 19.2g Protein: 80.7g Fat: 138.7g Cals: 1645 Length of Fast: 23hrs 53mins Average BG Before Fasting Experiment: 7.0 Today's Average BG Reading: 5.9 Breathalyser reading: 0.19% BAC Interestingly the estimated HbA1c on the mySugr app has come down by around 0.2 - 0.4 points every day so far: 41.9 - Day 1 (baseline) 39.9 - Day 8 38.8 - Day 15 38.6 - Day 16 I suspect that doing more readings whilst intermittently fasting has probably skewed this a little downwards.
