Hi,
I was diagnosed with type 2 in December. My hba1c was 55. I'm seeing a diabetic doc next week, so not had a lot of advice.
I've been trying to be sensible with food, mainly eating low sugar foods and cutting cake, biscuits etc.
I had a "hypo" a week after diagnosis and put that down to suddenly cutting right back on sugar.
Yesterday after a few weeks of sensible eating I had another one . I felt dizzy, lightheaded clammy and sort of detached from reality.
I ate some chocolate and felt better, but tired and washed out.
I spoke to a diabetic nurse at my surgery who said its unusual for type to to have hypos . she said it's probably a false low, as my body
Adjusts to having less sugar than its been used to.
She did give me a glucose meter so I can test over the next few weeks to see what's going on.
Anyone else have this?? Can I expect many more before my body adjusts?
