Glad to hear your ok, have a good day, & everyone else@maureen5752 - Morning. No problem Maureen it's good that others join in all the discussions. I take a tablet for Diabetes that has 3 common side effects: Low Backache, Thrush, Burning Urine. My GP told me if I get any of these then to stop the tablet immediately for several days. I have been on this tablet for only 9 months and this is the 5th time that I have stopped it. I've got some dip sticks and checked my urine this morning and all is fine on the dip stick. So no worry there.
I didn't wee much yesterday and today I am drinking more water than I usually do to flush out my Kidneys.
It's the right decision for you @liam1955. Any sniff of a problem i'll be following you. I wonder if theyll try you on victoza or stigliptin?@ick:)ihun - Hi Vicky, I am stopping the Dapagliflozin (again) as from today. Didn't wee much yesterday and my urine this morning was ' on fire' - I think after 9 months of taking it, it has done what it had to do: lower HBA1C and weight loss. No more weight has been lost and I remain the same weight since January.
Hi @johnnybaker45. Six jacket potatoes sounds like a lot, were they tiny ones? Don't forget that even supposedly healthy foods like potatoes have carbohydrate in them. I love jacket potatoes but sadly can't have them as they push my sugar levels too high.I had 6 jacket potatoes with salt and pepper last night at 8:30 pm and this morning upon waking my fasting blood glucose was 6.5.
I'll let you know wednesday afternoon. Only seeing dn thou.@ickihun - Hi Vicky. Before I went onto Insulin (July 2014) I had tried: SITAGLIPTIN - VICTOZA - LIRAGLUTIDE each one of these I took for 6 months, they had no effect. Then I began GLICLAZIDE and this made me put on a stone in weight in just a month!
I've got my Diabetic Review at the Hospital in May, so got to get my Bloods (HBA1C) done next week. When I stop the Dapagliflozin I have to increase the Insulin up by 2 units to 44. Maybe it's time for a change in Insulin for me after 2 years of being on it? I still take 4 x 500mg of Metformin a day too.
Oh Vicky, I do hope something positive is decided for you? Do let me know will you? William x
Well this week has been an exercise in poor control. After been pleased with progress I think I took my eye of the ball - woke up with BG of 9.2it was in the 5's. It was 8.4 at around 3am.
I've had two dinners out with friends this week, and drank too much red wine. Last night I was good on the food, thinking it could have been the biscuits with the cheese - I'd usually leave them but didn't. Everything else was carb free (I think!).
Maybe I'll put it down as an exercise in what not to do, get back on track and things will return. Feeling a bit disheartened - but I know where it went wrong. Have to get it down today ...
Sorry for a morning rant, just so shocked at 9.2!
@PenfoldAPD as long as you know where you went wrong......be worse if you were doing everything the same and that happened
6.9 again for me this morning, Daily average of 5.9 again for yesterday, which considering I had an Ofsted meeting And feedback session I am pleased with. Oh And another Kilo down making it 5 kilos this month so happy with that too.

Don't be to hard on yourself. Letting your hair down once in a while is good for the soul. You are all doing really well ,and everyone is so supportive. That is an amazing weightloss @Lindy1706. I've been lchf since 01 Jan but havent lost as much as that, I'm very envious. Can I be really personal and ask what your BMI was when you started? You don't have to answer! Mine was 29.3, it's now 25.@penfold APD Ahh the demon drink lol, I am not really much of a drinker but will indulge in a really good single malt as my poison of choice
Re weightloss yes I feel great and am cycling through my old clothes......just have to make sure I try them And wear them though as I have some that I have missed completly And are now too big!
Love LCHF I have lost 17 kilos since 10th February
