@maureen5752 - Morning. No problem Maureen it's good that others join in all the discussions. I take a tablet for Diabetes that has 3 common side effects: Low Backache, Thrush, Burning Urine. My GP told me if I get any of these then to stop the tablet immediately for several days. I have been on this tablet for only 9 months and this is the 5th time that I have stopped it. I've got some dip sticks and checked my urine this morning and all is fine on the dip stick. So no worry there.
I didn't wee much yesterday and today I am drinking more water than I usually do to flush out my Kidneys. :)

@ick:)ihun - Hi Vicky, I am stopping the Dapagliflozin (again) as from today. Didn't wee much yesterday and my urine this morning was ' on fire' - I think after 9 months of taking it, it has done what it had to do: lower HBA1C and weight loss. No more weight has been lost and I remain the same weight since January.:)
It's the right decision for you @liam1955. Any sniff of a problem i'll be following you. I wonder if theyll try you on victoza or stigliptin?
I hope i can try metformin again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

I had 6 jacket potatoes with salt and pepper last night at 8:30 pm and this morning upon waking my fasting blood glucose was 6.5.
Hi @johnnybaker45. Six jacket potatoes sounds like a lot, were they tiny ones? Don't forget that even supposedly healthy foods like potatoes have carbohydrate in them. I love jacket potatoes but sadly can't have them as they push my sugar levels too high.

What are you up to today?

@ickihun - Hi Vicky. Before I went onto Insulin (July 2014) I had tried: SITAGLIPTIN - VICTOZA - LIRAGLUTIDE each one of these I took for 6 months, they had no effect. Then I began GLICLAZIDE and this made me put on a stone in weight in just a month!
I've got my Diabetic Review at the Hospital in May, so got to get my Bloods (HBA1C) done next week. When I stop the Dapagliflozin I have to increase the Insulin up by 2 units to 44. Maybe it's time for a change in Insulin for me after 2 years of being on it? I still take 4 x 500mg of Metformin a day too.
Oh Vicky, I do hope something positive is decided for you? Do let me know will you? William x

Well this week has been an exercise in poor control. After been pleased with progress I think I took my eye of the ball - woke up with BG of 9.2 it was in the 5's. It was 8.4 at around 3am.

I've had two dinners out with friends this week, and drank too much red wine. Last night I was good on the food, thinking it could have been the biscuits with the cheese - I'd usually leave them but didn't. Everything else was carb free (I think!).

Maybe I'll put it down as an exercise in what not to do, get back on track and things will return. Feeling a bit disheartened - but I know where it went wrong. Have to get it down today ...

Sorry for a morning rant, just so shocked at 9.2!

Yea you are right @Lindy1706 a few glasses of red and my resolve slipped. Tough week at work too so will take the weekend to get back to normal - and no treats!

Well done on your weight loss, very impressive bet that makes you feel good.

@PenfoldAPD That must have come as a bit of a jolt! It is easy done, the trick is to understand what happened and use it. You've seen what good has come from the changes you've made and they will show you the way. Bang on Young man.

I'm finding the balance of exercise and work a little more tricky and I think it does affect my bloods. Not able to please myself at work for post lunchtime walks as I am now part of a large group..

@Lindy1706 nice work on the weight. I think an Ofsted visit would send my numbers scattering, glad to read that you came out good.

4.8 am

One of my fav dinners last night, crustless flan, chorizo, leek, cheese and red onion, salad of avocado, rocket, watercress, feta cheese and fennel with an OO dressing, a small glass of red wine.

No walks yesterday, Mrs Hj picking up SiL from station mid evening, watched "Line of Duty", Keeley Hawes was very good.

Friday!!! :)
Take care

Tut tut @PenfoldAPD you are the devil in disguise. Ha ha
Where is my part'time saintly penfold? Red wine or blood?
Dust yourself down and get back on the wagon. Your wagon held the winning formula for you. Get it back and give your diabetes a good shake.
I've lost half a lb since seeing dietician. All my half lbs all add up. Don't give up. I haven't! ;)

I'm out soon for school run then walking around metrocentre. If anyone knows it. It tasks your legs, no matter how fit you are.
@Lindy1706 it's like bluewater but more than half the price for the same thing. Bridgedales and everything. Ha ha
Swimming planned tomorrow without toddler. Really looking forward to see if any difference in my costume. I won't over do it and end up with suppressed nerve again. I forget I'm nearer 50 with these 2 young kids! Young at heart me.

Don't be to hard on yourself. Letting your hair down once in a while is good for the soul. You are all doing really well ,and everyone is so supportive. You have the weekend to get back on track .

Thanks for your words of encouragement (@ickihun saintly Penfold ) I know what needs to be done, I'll stop beating myself up and just get on with it.

BG now down to 7.5 so getting better already - we will just ignore the hangover, I have a site meeting with clients in 30 minutes so need to pull myself together

That is an amazing weightloss @Lindy1706. I've been lchf since 01 Jan but havent lost as much as that, I'm very envious. Can I be really personal and ask what your BMI was when you started? You don't have to answer! Mine was 29.3, it's now 25.

Well done on the Ofsted visit, they are really unnerving aren't they? My mum was a headteacher until she retired and said they added years to her life. As soon as she retired she became chair of the local preschool committee so she ended up still having to deal with Ofsted inspectors!

My blood sugar this morning was 9.1 after a sugary coffee which wasn't too sugary but enough to take off the bitter taste. I posted something the other day denoting a diagnosis I was once given called borderline personality disorder which although once suspected my care coordinator said is under review due to myself not presenting as someone with that disorder. My care coordinator said my disability is typical of Asperger Syndrome and ADHD because of my inability to concentrate or show attention, being easily distracted and easily influenced, minimal eye contact, problems with non-verbal communication, absence of imaginative play or ideation, routines and rituals, emotional dysregulation. She said the BPD diagnosis has been revoked.

Sending you hugs @PenfoldAPD, this week hasn't been a good one BG wise and this morning I woke up to 7.7! I know it's just a temporary blip so I'm not worrying too much, I hope yours comes down soon
