Given the circumstances, that is a very good outcome. The next few weeks won't be easy, but knowing that your mother is being well cared for will take a weight off your mind. Some good news today. I have found my mum a suitable nursing home with palliative care. It is under new management and has already started making headway resolving outstanding issues. I hope she will be happy there. She's not looking at me or talking to me right now as I know she's scared and doesn't want to go into care. I've tried to make her understand, she may in time. The Manager/RGN is lovely, caring and a good manager of the home and staff. We get on well. Mum should be in the nursing home within the next 2/3 days. A little stress has been lifted.
I hope you all have had a good day
good morning, my friends,
i went to the expert patients programme self-management course at a health centre in tulse hill today and participated well although a bit shy and lacking alot of eye contact. i had a cup of coffee with sweeteners and milk and a satsuma in the 15 minute break.
i got home and my carer came and got me 10 ready meals of his choice, a pack of 4 tins of tuna chunks in sunflower oil, countrylife english butter, kingsmill white bread loaves x 2, coffee, tetley teabags, sweeteners, sugar, a large jar of marmite and 15 eggs. he gave me a receipt for my care coordinator to scan on her computer and forward in an email to joe buckley, my appointee, who works for client affairs and adult community services.
i ate a lot of marmite sandwiches and just had a cup of sugary coffee with coffeemate.
i also bought a new house phone for eleven pounds and forty nine pence with a receipt for my care coordinator who visits next wednesday at 2:30 pm.
my blood sugar just now at 6:14 pm was 11.7. a real pitiful excuse for a diabetes management strategy on my part but a good day.
@13lizanne I would go with the recommendations for books, the weather forecast is not great... Love the borders, many a good break down there.A change of scenery at least and some good fresh air. My friend likes Wauchope cottages

Cold, shivery, and hurty today.
I'm supposed to be proofreading, but instead I'm cuddling a hot water bottle, craving chocolate, and gazing out of the window.
I hate this weather.Where's the sun??????
Hi. Sorry for the absence - returned to work and have been ultra busy resuming my usual routine. FBG 6.8 so not bad.
Oh no! Sending you hugs Anna, I hope you feel better soon. The books sound like a good idea, think of your holiday as recovery timeRight! so my blood sugar has rocketed throughout the day, I'm coughing, sneezing and aching all over, my glands are the size of golf balls and - we are going on holiday tomorrow
So, the bag of Cadburys Big Chocolate Buttons that I was saving in case of an "emergency" will have to be eaten now.Hope you all have a pleasant evening.

@debrasue not one for being picky but you put a naughty comma between "chocolate, and gazing out". Keep hugging the hot water bottle to get you up to speed lol.
Hope you feel better very soon. Why do these things always happen when you are about to go away.I really hope you feel better soon xx
Thank you for that Sable_JanAs @TooManyCrisps has mentioned funding it has made me think of pension. I don't know Mum's age but if she belongs/belonged to a work pension scheme she may qualify for commuted pension where any pension due can be given as a lump sum which can be spent as she wishes. Even pension in payment can sometimes be commuted depending upon how long it has already been paid out for... It sound a bit cold talking of money but claim what you can so you can cover time off work to spend more time with Mum.
Brilliant, well done DSWell, I have some fantastic news - DS has been writing a script for his drama group at our local theatre and when he got home tonight he told me they're going to be performing it next week! Proud mum moment

I guess it's scary enough getting such a shocking diagnosis then discovering you can't stay at home where everything is familiar and comforting .... I'm sure once Mum is settled in it will become easier....Some good news today. I have found my mum a suitable nursing home with palliative care. Lol @debrasue. No wonder people think I'm pedantic. I was just pulling your leg to make you laugh and feel better. It's cold and the 15 tog duvet will be adequate tonight. It's 2°C here in Scotland and for late April that's unusual. Night night. That was a comma to denote a pause, for emphasis. I've always considered it a writer's prerogative to disregard the rules of grammar in favour of creative content! LOL
Thanks Paula, glad to be back.Welcome back @eddie1968
