Type 2 Life

Those are really good results. He is doing really well.

Woohoo! Fantastic!

Thanks everybody. I'm really chuffed , he's also had his pneumonia jab today against my advice but that's another story.

@tina_marie - That's a fantastic decrease in hba1c in 2 months! Many Congratulations to @eldergarth for his hard work and determination and of course You too.
Didn't take note of the length of time. As th HbA1C covers the previous 3 months the result is even more astounding taking into account the previous highs which will account for 1/3 of the current figure

Thanks all don't think it would have been possible without your help and advice you gave me you have all had a part in this .
They have stopped my gliclazide as it looks like that was causing my hypos
Just need to get my hips and knees sorted now

nice work, job on!

Really well done @Russetfox
Having achieved your goal for HbA1c you will need to work on keeping it there. Have a day off and enjoy it. Y

Well done @eldergarth and @Russetfox !

Not entirely sure the holiday did me any good - I was not quite with it all day today. Never mind, it gave my students much entertainment and I took their advice to drink more coffee... they know me so well.

@eldergarth and @tina_marie and @Russetfox Great job well done.

Had my pre admission examination at Queens hospital today all the usual height weight blood pressure ECG bloods drawn then the nurse decided to check my blood sugars no go unfortunately she had misplaced her glucose meter and could not find it. I said don't worry I check regularly and told her what is had been earlier.

She showed me the stents that would be grafted next week they are a lot larger than I had thought they would be. Doctors wont decide till next week if general anaesthesia or spinal if spinal then could be home in a couple of days if ICU not required. I did suggest that if they put an outside door in the theatre they could just roll people off the operating table straight into the car park thus getting them out even quicker.

Oh yes a little extra the hospital is plastered with pictures of the Eat Well Plate that doesn't bode well if I do have to spend some time there.

Yay. FBG at 5.0 today - good control = BG. Pleased that good diet (LCHF and loving it!) and upping my swimming to 30 minutes every day is having a good effect, no readings over 6.0 yesterday.

Even had Oppo ice cream around 9pm. Going to week 4 of my self management diabetes course today - will take the rest of my Lemon Cake to show those requiring encouragement (let's leave it at that ) that you can have your cake and eat it!

Off to the pool .. well, when it opens.

I want to hear the empathy as I haven't as much sniffed a piece of chocky in 20 years as I profoundly allergic to it....and still after all those years I can remember the taste of lovely, creamy Galaxy
