Type 2 Life

I work in an evironment which involves a lot of meetings. That usually includes loads of bikkies and juice on offer in the mornings, 'standard' buffet fare (mini sausage rolls, quiches, etc etc) at lunchtimes, and then tea and more bikkies mid pm.... In the past I would have indulged (possibly one of the reasons I am where I am) but clearly cannot anymore. It really hurts, but is the price I pay being abnormal in a normal world! - it's my problem not theirs!
Btw - none of them know about my 'condition' nor do I want them to!

Hi Sable-Jan, thank you for your kind words .

Morning @KimG how is the lchf going today? Good to see you back on the forum. I like the new avatar, when I saw the headphones I thought - rock concert? Then I thought - No, this is Kim she's clay pigeon shooting or at Brands Hatch
Lol. Clay pigeon shooting . I'm a bit rubbish but I enjoy it. I had a short round of golf this morning to wake me up. I'm back on my LCHF and noting all the food down in myfitnesspal - it keeps me on the straight and narrow. I had a rather sleepless night last night. It happens every time I go to my mum's to clear the house . Heading for the amenity tip later. Had to go back today to collect some more stuff. Quiz tonight. Have to have a ham and cheese Ploughman's as the meal that goes with the quiz tonight has rice or potatoes or chips with it . Have a good day x

Thank you ickihun! Glad to be back x

Like that word. Might add it to my repertoire along with peeshing down and blowing a hoolie
Love de-jammyfication - I'm definitely adding it to my repertoire, too.
Others I have added include one my niece came out with when she was two, whilst placing her order for breakfast: "Strangled eggs"
And there is also one my daughter instigated at around the same age, when she was asked how she felt about her upcoming holiday - "upcited".

We call smoked cod or haddock "goldfish" after my son asked for it when we were at fruit & veg shop (sold fish too btw)
"baby bear's porridge" for when something is spot on or "just right"
Love the "strangled eggs"

Ah, yes - there's something quite poetically perfect about 'baby bear's porridge'... That's going to have to enter the repertoire, too!

What interests out of work do you have?
Did you decide to go out?
You know Eddie. I get where you are at.
When i had time off i usually spent it at home. Enjoying my home which i at the time paid through the nose for (London prices).
I understand Eddie.

I think that the definition of ultimate fulfillment is having the freedom and ability to choose exactly when to spend time at home, enjoying your home, and when to go out and enjoy going to places and doing things you love.
It's a hard balance to achieve, in my opinion; many of us may have the time to spend at home without really enjoying the place where we live, or we may have the time to go out but may not have the money or ability to do the things we love.
I feel very blessed in almost achieving it: I have the freedom to choose, I adore my home, and I have enough money to indulge myself in the ways I choose. But I don't have the physical ability any longer to do some of the things that I used to enjoy.
Ah well, swings and roundabouts, I guess...
